The Maintenance Robotic Engineer is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of robotics systems and equipment within the BIW lines. This role involves preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives to support production efficiency and minimize downtime. The engineer collaborates closely with cross‑functional teams and reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.

You Will
  • Perform diagnostics and repair on industrial robots (Fanuc) including EOAT, servo axes, extended axes, and safety sensors.
  • Back up and restore robot programs and conduct periodic program validation.
  • Support robot path teaching, cycle optimization, and process recovery strategies.
  • Monitor alarms, update logs, and coordinate with automation/controls teams for issue resolution.
  • Assist with installation, calibration, and commissioning of new robotic systems.
  • Maintain documentation for robot configuration and safety procedures.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on robotic systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve automation‑related issues to minimize production downtime.
  • Modify and optimize robotic routines to improve equipment performance.
  • Support the installation and commissioning of new robotics equipment in the BIW line.
  • Maintain documentation of robotic systems, including wiring diagrams, program backups, and change logs.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and support root cause analysis for recurring issues.
  • Train maintenance technicians on automation systems and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Identify spares requirements for robotic systems.
  • Keep up with current and developing control system trends regarding maintenance.
  • Adjust work schedules to meet production requirements.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned, permanent or temporary, to support efficiency in operations.
  • Enforce application of Lucid Motors standards and manage external integrators during specification, design review, and design approval.
You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, or Robotics Engineering.
  • 2–5 years of experience in robotic maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands‑on experience with robot programming interfaces and Fanuc troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of robot safety and safety zones; proficiency on DCS setup.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts and respond to urgent robotic breakdowns.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen‑Bradley).
  • Proficiency in robot programming, including commissioning, customization, and setup (e.g., ABB, FANUC, KUKA).
  • Strong understanding of automation networks (Ethernet/IP, ProfNet, Modbus).
  • Familiarity with SCADA systems and HMI development.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and control schematics.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Experience or knowledge of incoming power distribution networks is a plus.
  • In‑depth knowledge of maintenance activities, TPM scheduling, and the production/manufacturing industry.
  • This position requires 2+ years Automotive Body in White Fanuc robot programming experience (Please apply only if you meet this requirement).
