Job Scope

Conduct and support planned and unplanned maintenance of assets. Ensure optimum availability and efficiency of asset. Apply technical expertise and analytical and innovative troubleshooting capabilities to overcome the abnormalities. Ensure work activities are performed efficiently and effectively. Ensure maintenance activities are following operational priorities. Effectively respond to operational abnormalities.

Key Duties and Responsivities
  1. Ensure day-to-day work is performed effectively, efficiently, and safely in order to increase refinery reliability/integrity and promote safety & compliance to environmental standards.
  2. Perform wider scope of machining operations, including extending the use of conventional machine tools and/or programming (CNC) machine tools.
  3. Use a greater degree of independent judgment in determining the need for and improvising special setups and procedures on conventional and/or (CNC) machine tools to perform machining operations that have not been tried before, occur on a one-time or infrequent basis, require machining to tolerances that are difficult to attain or hold, or require machining of unusual surface configurations.
  4. Diagnoses faults in machines, apparatus, and equipment and assists in or supervises corrective measures. Independently interpreting and applying sets and series of interrelated prints and drawings, to prepare supplementary sketches, and to compute missing dimensions.
  5. Performs highly skilled precision work on repair of instruments and equipment. Recommend and use methods and procedures that contribute toward more efficient and economic machining operations, greater dimensional accuracy, or savings in machining time.
  6. Conduct check and balance on completed work in association with supervisor for compliance and follow accepted trade practices.
  7. Ensure proper care and security of tools and equipment in assigned areas. Maintains shop records. Read and interpret specialized drawings, sketches, diagrams, shop mathematics, charts, tables, and handbook formulas in a precise manner.
  8. Attend emergency situation or a sudden issue and rapidly establish the nature of problem and swiftly act to fix the problem or elevate it to supplementary support.
  9. Make sketches of work to be performed, searches materials catalogue, prepares written parts and materials requests and arranges for delivery of materials.
  10. Assures safety measures are observed. Installs, troubleshoots, repairs and modifies in the shop or field, equipment, motors, systems and control devices in oil producing, processing, shipping, power generation or distribution facilities.
  11. Analyses faults, find out malfunction, breakdown or failure, disassembles equipment and appliances, makes diagrams, replaces or repairs parts and reassembles. Adhere to Safety regulations and codes, comply with standards.
  12. Field work includes layout, assembly, installation, testing, repair and safety checks on Company-wide systems/equipment.
  13. Works on diagrams, engineering drawings and equipment specifications. Makes calculations for load requirements and chooses appropriate.
  14. Installs, troubleshoots, repairs and modifies in the shop or field, equipment, motors, systems and control devices in oil producing, processing, shipping, and power generation or distribution facilities.
  15. Maintains and adjusts supply and production equipment to maximize operating performance.
  16. Locates and diagnoses faults on equipment or systems which may involve complex interlocking or inter-related work.
  17. Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the direct Supervisor.
