Perform high-grade machining operations according to manufacturing documents (drawing, work instructions, specifications, and CNC Program).
A skilled worker is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machine tools to manufacture products from casting & forging materials. This role involves interpreting technical drawings and blueprints, ensuring the accuracy of machine operations, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities include:
- Operating CNC machines to perform various machining tasks.
- Understanding task specifications and desired results by reading drawings and related manufacturing documents.
Additional duties:
- Preparing and loading workpieces onto machine tools.
- Testing to verify if machines produce outputs according to specifications.
- Setting machines to complete full cycles to fabricate a large number of parts.
- Supervising machines during operation and making necessary adjustments for better results.
- Inspecting and measuring finished products and comparing them with requirements to ensure proper completion.
- Checking and maintaining machinery daily to ensure functionality.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or higher.
- Experience as a CNC machine tool operator for Deep Hole machines, with knowledge of deep hole machining.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in operating machine tools.
- Ability to operate with CNC controllers (FANUC, SIEMENS, etc.), though not essential.
- Experience operating heavy-duty machine tools.
- Ability to install various heads and skillfully use them.
- Understanding and reviewing machining manufacturing drawings and technical specifications.
- General knowledge of machine tools, tooling, and measuring instruments.
- Ability to interpret CNC programs and create/edit manual programs (G & M codes).
- Skill in operating CNC machinery, tooling, and precision measuring instruments.
- Proficiency in using measuring tools and gauges to ensure product quality within tolerances.
- Capable of working independently and taking initiative.
- Performing self-prevention measures and regular consumable changes on Deep Hole machine tools.
- Training new employees on proper operation of Deep Hole machine tools.
- Previous experience with similar oil & gas field parts is preferred but not essential.
