Job Description: Logistics Supervisor

Position Overview

The Logistics Supervisor is the second-in-command in the logistics and operations team, supporting the Operations Manager in overseeing all aspects of catering transport, warehousing, and event logistics. This role provides leadership, coordination, and supervision of logistics crews and drivers, ensuring timely, safe, and efficient delivery of equipment and services while maintaining high standards of health, safety, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and lead logistics crews and drivers, providing guidance, training, and support.
  • Ensure all team members understand their duties, safety protocols, and performance expectations.
  • Monitor daily performance, productivity, and compliance with SOPs.
  • Step in for the Operations Manager when required, making operational decisions and resolving issues on the ground.
  • Foster a positive, proactive, and collaborative team culture.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise the preparation, loading, and dispatch of catering trucks.
  • Ensure vehicles (3.57.5 tons) are loaded safely and efficiently according to event requirements.
  • Oversee transport schedules and routes, ensuring timely delivery of equipment, supplies, and staff.
  • Monitor vehicle maintenance, cleanliness, and compliance with transport regulations.
  • Supervise warehouse operations, including packing, wrapping, and storage of catering equipment.
  • Ensure accurate inventory records and proper handling of equipment.
  • Report damaged or missing items and support the Operations Manager with loss/damage reports.
  • Implement warehouse organization, efficiency improvements, and SOPs under guidance from the Operations Manager.
  • Coordinate logistics crews on-site during events to ensure smooth setup, service, and breakdown.
  • Ensure all catering equipment, furniture, and supplies are delivered and positioned correctly.
  • Support the Operations Manager in aligning staffing and resources with event requirements.
  • Ensure all logistics team members adhere to health, safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Enforce proper PPE usage and safe lifting/handling procedures.
  • Monitor compliance with driving regulations, environmental guidelines, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of staff schedules, vehicle logs, inventory movements, and operational issues.
  • Prepare operational reports for the Operations Manager on team performance, event readiness, and resource utilization.
  • Assist with budget management, labor scheduling, and cost control initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent; formal logistics, supply chain, or hospitality training preferred.
  • Minimum 35 years of experience in logistics, transport, or warehouse operations.
  • Proven supervisory or managerial experience leading teams in logistics, catering, or event operations.
  • Familiarity with vehicle operations, inventory management, and event logistics.
Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse and transport operations.
  • Ability to drive and coordinate trucks (3.57.5 tons).
  • Competent in inventory tracking, route planning, and transport compliance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with scheduling or warehouse software is advantageous.
