The AWS Infrastructure Operation Logistics is looking for a Logistics Specialist to join our expanding team. Logistics Specialists review Data Center inventory, inbound shipments, and ongoing demand to ensure that proper stock levels are maintained in all locations to support build and repair activities.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Comprehensive understanding of transportation, shipping, and receiving along with inventory control; adherence to strict safety standards.
  • Completing manual tasks, such as assembling, addressing, and arranging for the shipment of materials, handling incoming shipments, unpacking boxes and verifying contents.
  • Load and unload large equipment utilizing pallet jacks and other powered equipment (e.g., server lifters).
  • Maintain accountability of in-stock components, receive and process inbound shipments.
  • Assist with ongoing requests to ensure that proper stock levels are maintained and distributed to all locations to support build and repair activities.
  • Work with the Logistics Manager to create plans to optimize the flow and delivery of parts through their lifecycle; track inventory locations and movement.
  • Collaborate closely with Datacenter Operations Technicians to fulfill parts and equipment deliveries quickly and accurately.
  • Coordinate with Procurement teams to ensure inbound equipment orders are complete and delivered to appropriate Data Center Locations.
  • Maintain regular communication with vendors to resolve issues and ensure they understand business requirements.
  • Support an environment that operates 24/7.
  • Receive parts, maintain inventory, and check‑out parts as needed to Data Center Technicians and Engineers.
  • Transport parts, racks, and equipment between different locations, including localized driving of various transportation vehicles.
  • Handle sensitive/classified client materials and work with and/or around moving mechanical parts.
  • Occasionally work in an office environment.
A Day in the Life
  • Position works in‑person at a site location.
  • Data entry and resolving questions from peer organizations.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date metrics dashboards and/or Excel spreadsheets and create reports for internal and external customers and management as required.
  • Ensure that all billing associated with the Inventory supply chain is accurate, validated and ready for processing.
  • Assemble, address, stamp, and arrange for the shipment of merchandise and materials.
  • Assist in daily scheduling of deliveries and pick‑ups to and from production locations.
  • Keep precise records of all commodities going in and out of the company.
  • Frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
  • Regularly walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Coordinate body movements when using tools or equipment.
  • Reach and stretch to position equipment and fixtures while maintaining balance.
  • Push or pull heavy objects into position.
  • Work in a noisy environment.
  • Stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Occasionally be exposed to cold or hot weather.
  • Work with and/or around moving mechanical parts.
  • Noise level varies and can be loud.
  • This team will be working overtime as needed by the business.
  • Willingness and demonstrated ability to work in the following physical conditions with reasonable accommodations: Push or pull heavy objects into position; work in a noisy environment; commitment to a culture of safety; must be able to shift priorities without friction.
