The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing the movement of shipments locally and internationally. The role ensures smooth coordination between customers, transporters, warehouses, and internal teams to guarantee timely delivery, accuracy in documentation, and full compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Shipment Coordination & Execution
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily inbound and outbound shipments.
- Ensure all cargo is picked, packed, loaded, and delivered according to customer requirements.
- Assign and monitor drivers, trucks, and delivery routes.
- Communicate pickup and delivery instructions to operations teams.
2. Documentation & System Updates
- Prepare and verify all shipping documents (B/L, invoices, delivery notes, packing lists, etc.).
- Update ERP/TMS/WMS systems regularly with shipment statuses.
- Ensure timely issuance of job files, PODs, and delivery confirmations.
3. Customer Service & Communication
- Act as the main point of contact for all customer shipment inquiries.
- Provide accurate shipment updates and resolve operational issues.
- Coordinate with import, export, customs clearance, warehouse, and transport teams.
4. Compliance & Quality Control
- Ensure all logistics activities comply with company policies, safety rules, and government regulations.
- Verify accurate cargo labeling, weight, and quantity.
- Follow proper handling procedures for hazardous or sensitive cargo.
5. Vendor & Transporter Coordination
- Coordinate with transport companies, freight forwarders, and carriers.
- Monitor transport capacity, truck availability, and delivery schedules.
- Report any delays or service failures and propose solutions.
6. Reporting & KPI Monitoring
- Track daily shipments, delivery performance, and operational KPIs.
- Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports.
- Identify areas for improvement for cost optimization and efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
- 0–2 years experience in logistics coordination, transportation, or warehouse operations.
- Experience in shipping companies, freight forwarding, or transport operations is preferred.
- Good knowledge of logistics processes (import/export, customs, trucking, warehousing).
- Strong command of English (Arabic is a plus).
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word) and logistics/ERP systems.
