Lead Fluid System Engineer

System engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline, dealing with all activities needed to develop a solution to meet both the business need and the technical requirements of internal and external customers. System engineer will act as integrator among other engineering disciplines, being directly responsible of fluid system design of auxiliary systems.

Job Description

As System Engineer, you will be in charge of the last phases of the system definition and process integration for trains composed by gas turbines, electric motors, steam turbine, and centrifugal compressors. You will supervise quality and timeliness of engineering systems integration deliverables based on customers’ satisfaction, testing goals accomplishment, cost‑out strategy implementation and site installation/service support, ensuring the balance between design flexibility needs and standard configuration adoption. This role is focused on a specific strategic Customer and requires the proper guidance and technical expertise for a smooth finalization of the requisition projects and to deeply support Customer for topic related to the system discipline.

As a Lead System Fluid Engineer, focusing on a specific strategic Customer, you will be responsible for:

  • Finalizing the technical documentation exchanged with Customer during the design phase, leading meeting with Customers / EPC as necessary to speed up a smooth closure of comments / residual technical open points.
  • Attending all the meetings with Customer, such as Kick Off Meeting, HAZOP meetings and SIL review for personnel safety and asset integrity management, Final Inspections, … Support Customers in deep technical review meeting demonstrating expertise and full ownership of system discipline.
  • Handling technical discussion with customer with proper acumen to understand needs and promptly engage properly Head Quarter technical subject matter expert for support and fast resolution. Candidate shall also be able to understand customer job specific technical specification/requirements to support design team for alignment.
  • Providing prompt support to site team during commissioning phase or during Customer production phase, involving the proper technical experts based on the deep understanding of the issue.
  • Coordinating and supporting the outsource engineering resources for the finalization of the project, monitoring their quality, timing, and productivity.
  • Keeping strong connection with Head Quarter design team and manufacturing team to implement all relevant lessons learnt to sustain product continuous improvement.
  • Providing technical support to the Application Engineers in BiD phase, with proactive loop back to the configurations and product policies.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a Master Degree or PhD in Mechanical, Chemical, Energy, Aerospace, Aeronautical, Nuclear, or equivalent engineering
  • Have robust knowledge of fluid dynamics, mechanical and thermal physical domains
  • Have robust knowledge of turbomachinery and/or process design
  • Have 3-5 years of experience in O&G engineering environment or other Energy oriented realities
  • Proven experience with technical problems resolution for turbomachinery and/or complex system design
  • Be able to show good problem-solving, process improvement and analytical skills along with interpersonal skill
  • Have well‑developed interpersonal and communication skills acting as team player with ability to influence and motivate others
  • Be able to interface effectively with all stakeholders, at all level of the organization
  • Be fluent in English language

Qualifications that would be a plus:

  • Have a Six Sigma Green Belt Certification will be considered a plus
  • Be fluent in Arabic (Saudi Arabia), in addition to English language, will be considered a plus.
