About the Role
As a Lead Network Admin, you will be responsible for carrying out in-depth evaluation and verification of system capabilities. You will act as the intermediary between end-users and software developers, ensuring that all product information is properly disseminated and that our systems are both robust and secure.
Key Accountabilities
- Maintain documentation for managed systems, network devices, security devices/software, and applications.
- Assist in network design and implementation.
- Develop and monitor policies for the use of network resources.
- Follow established policies and standard operating procedures.
- Provide “Tier 3” support to troubleshoot and resolve complex IT issues.
- Maintain records and reports related to network operations and maintenance.
- Troubleshoot network performance issues, analyze traffic, and provide capacity‑planning solutions.
- Monitor and respond to complex hardware and software problems.
- Interface with vendor support to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded performance.
- Design, install, and support network communications, including LAN/WAN systems.
- Perform a variety of network‑engineering tasks, including major systems design, integration, and implementation.
- Conduct routine testing and analysis of all network facilities.
- Utilize software and hardware tools to diagnose complex problems affecting network performance.
- Patch and maintain the network to meet security compliance standards.
- Research network products, services, and protocols to support procurement and development.
- Schedule and monitor network data backups and test restoration facilities.
- Install, configure, and maintain network cabling, switches, routers and firewalls.
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of network‑connected end‑user hardware and software.
Qualifications, Skills & Aptitudes
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Management Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of four years of experience in Network Administration.
- IT certifications (Cisco, CCNA, CCNP, Microsoft) are preferred.
- Extensive experience with TCP/IP networking
- Significant experience managing Windows client and server operating systems and applications.
- Significant experience managing network devices (e.g. switches, routers).
- Experience with Cisco and HPE switches and routers preferred.
- Familiarity with system and network security concepts and best practices.
- Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems preferred.
- Experience with managing security devices/software (firewalls, endpoint protection, NAC, etc.).
