We are looking for an experienced Laboratory Manager to lead daily operations, ensure quality compliance, oversee petroleum product testing, and manage a team of chemists and technicians.
Job Description
- Manage day-to-day laboratory activities, workflow, and turnaround times.
- Oversee testing of crude oil, refined products, gas, lubricants, and petrochemicals.
- Ensure compliance with ASTM, ISO, IP, API and maintain ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation.
- Review and validate test results and resolve technical issues.
- Manage and maintain laboratory instruments (GC, HPLC, XRF, FTIR, KF, etc.).
- Approve procurement, commissioning, and installation of new equipment and technologies.
- Maintain instrument logs and ensure full traceability of measurements.
- Lead, train, and supervise lab staff; manage schedules and performance.
- Ensure HSE compliance and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Handle client communication, reporting, and technical support.
- Manage laboratory budget, resources, and equipment planning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of Experience within a petroleum, chemical, or accredited testing laboratory.
- Strong knowledge of petroleum testing standards and QMS (ISO 17025).
- Proven leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with LIMS and laboratory instrumentation.
