Job description
JOB PURPOSE:

We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Informatics Specialist to lead IT service delivery for laboratory system integration. This role focuses on ensuring seamless connectivity between diagnostic instruments, middleware, Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), while also supporting compliance with local IT regulations and expanding data coverage. You will work closely with healthcare providers, internal teams, and local IT stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions that enhance operational efficiency and patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage connectivity projects involving laboratory instruments, middleware, and LIS/HIS systems.
  • Deliver IT services to healthcare customers, ensuring robust integration and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve middleware/instrument connectivity issues; elevate to Level 2 support when needed.
  • Perform software updates on instruments and middleware following GCS procedures and protocols.
  • Study and apply local technical guidelines and laws related to cloud-based solutions.
  • Collaborate with local IT teams to advocate for increased data coverage and integration of our IT solutions.
  • Maintain a detailed customer database including asset types, serial numbers, connectivity types, and installation history.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Medical Laboratory Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a customer-facing technical role.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory instruments, middleware, and LIS/HIS connectivity.
  • Hands on experience with connectivity protocols ASTM, RS232 and HL7.
  • Basic knowledge of IT Networks is required. Advanced Knowledge or Certifications is a Plus.
  • Basic knowledge of Cybersecurity Practices in Healthcare. Advanced Knowledge or Certifications is a Plus.
  • Excellent communication skill, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to explain complex technical topics for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Project Management Certification (PMP or PRINCE2) is a Plus.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
