The Facilities Engineer is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and operational integrity of all building systems and technical installations within Leylatys Riyadh facilities, including the Central Production Unit (CPU), administration building, and associated restaurant outlets. The role ensures that all mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and kitchen systems in Riyadh operate efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with Saudi regulatory standards. The Facilities Engineer also supervises the Riyadh-based technical team and coordinates maintenance schedules, project execution, and external contractor work to ensure operational continuity and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of all technicians, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, kitchen, and welding teams.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of all building systems including MEP, refrigeration, kitchen, and utility equipment to ensure maximum uptime.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules and verify their timely completion.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues, providing engineering solutions and technical guidance to technicians.
- Conduct inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs, potential hazards, and areas for improvement.
- Plan and execute small engineering projects, upgrades, and refurbishments in collaboration with the Facilities Manager.
- Liaise with external contractors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure compliance with scope, safety, and quality standards.
- Monitor and control maintenance budgets, material requests, and spare parts inventory.
- Support all site operations when required, including external functions, other Leylaty sites, and affiliated restaurants in Riyadh.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant Saudi regulations, company policies, and safety standards including Civil Defence, NFPA, and local codes.
- Prepare maintenance reports, asset performance summaries, and engineering documentation for management review.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Facilities Engineering from a recognised institution.
- Minimum of 7 years experience in facilities management, maintenance engineering, or a related field.
- Strong technical knowledge of MEP systems, HVAC, electrical distribution, and kitchen equipment.
- Familiarity with CAFM systems, maintenance scheduling, and energy management practices.
- Excellent leadership and supervisory skills with experience managing multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards applicable in Saudi Arabia.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and O&M manuals.
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Ensure all maintenance activities are performed in accordance with company safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular safety audits and enforce proper PPE usage among all team members.
- Lead toolbox talks and safety briefings for the technical team.
- Report and investigate safety incidents, ensuring corrective actions are implemented promptly.
Collaboration
- Work closely with the Facilities Manager, Project Engineers, Procurement, and Operations departments.
- Supervise the Plumber, Electrician, HVAC Technician, Kitchen Technician, and Welder.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and consultants for project execution and system maintenance.
- Support operations teams during external events and functions requiring engineering oversight.
