Job Title: Electrical Project Engineer – Junior Level

Sector: Data Centre / Mission Critical Projects (preferred)

Key Responsibilities

Design Review & Coordination

  • Assist in reviewing the IFC MEP electrical design package (LV distribution, cabling, containment, lighting, earthing, lightning protection, fire alarm, BMS/EPMS, etc.).
  • Support the team in verifying that drawings and specifications meet local regulations (SEC, DEWA, ADDC, Civil Defence), relevant standards, and client requirements.
  • Provide day-to-day technical support to the BIM team during preparation and coordination of electrical shop drawings and single-line diagrams.
  • Help perform checks on shop drawings and calculations before submission to the consultant.
  • Prepare and track Requests for Information (RFIs) for design clarifications.
  • Attend coordination meetings with MEP trades and consultant engineers.
Submittals & Procurement Support
  • Assist in preparing and compiling material/technical submittals for electrical equipment and systems.
  • Follow up on consultant comments and help prepare re‑submissions in a timely manner.
  • Support the extraction and verification of Material Take‑Offs (MTOs) from Revit models.
  • Help prepare Material Requisitions (MRs) and basic RFQs for the Procurement department.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC and stores to ensure only approved materials reach site.
Site Engineering & Supervision
  • Monitor daily electrical installation activities against approved drawings and report progress/deviations.
  • Assist in issuing latest approved drawings to site supervisors and retrieving superseded versions.
  • Support site supervision teams with technical queries and solutions.
  • Raise and elevate any installation or coordination issues promptly to the Intermediate/Senior Engineer.
  • Coordinate electrical builders’ work requirements (sleeves, openings, supports) with other trades.
Planning, Quality & Safety
  • Provide regular electrical progress updates to the Planning & Controls team.
  • Assist in preparing and following up on Material Inspection Requests (MIRs) and Work Inspection Requests (WIRs).
  • Strictly follow all safety procedures, permit‑to‑work systems, LOTO, and project HSE requirements.
  • Actively participate in toolbox talks and safety initiatives.
  • Help the QA/QC team document any damage to installed electrical systems.
Commissioning & Handover
  • Assist the Commissioning team and vendors during integrated system testing and client witnessing.
  • Support the preparation of handover documentation (labels, O&M manuals, as‑built mark‑ups).
  • Help the BIM team with red‑line mark‑ups and site verification for final As‑Built drawings.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Power Engineering from a recognized university.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience (site or design office) – fresh graduates with strong internships may also be considered.
  • Basic knowledge of LV systems, containment, lighting, fire alarm, and BMS is essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit is a strong advantage.
  • Good understanding of Middle East standards and authority requirements is advantageous.
  • Excellent English communication skills and a proactive learning attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and under guidance.
