Job Summary
We are seeking a Jr. Network Administrator to provide a single point of contact for end‑users to receive support and maintenance within the organization’s desktop computing environment. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all PC hardware and equipment to ensure optimal workstation performance. To troubleshoot problem areas (in person, by telephone, or via e‑mail) in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end‑user assistance where required.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs on‑site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex desktop problems for end‑users, recommends and implements corrective solutions, including off‑site repair for remote users as needed.
- Installs, configures, tests, maintains, monitors, and troubleshoots end‑user workstations and related hardware and software to deliver required desktop service levels.
- Collaborates with LAN technicians/network administrators to ensure efficient operation of the company’s desktop computing environment.
- Administers and resolves issues associated with the workstation software products; receives and responds to incoming calls, pages, and/or e‑mail regarding desktop problems.
- Assists in performing moves, adds, and changes (MAC) requests as they are submitted by line managers.
- Ensures that physical desktop connections (i.e., RJ‑45 Ethernet jacks, RJ‑11 telephone modem jacks, connectors between PCs and servers, etc.) are in proper working order.
- Assists the network administrator in maintaining an inventory of all monitors, keyboards, hard drives, modems, network cards, and other components and equipment.
- Accurately documents instances of desktop equipment or component failure, repair, installation, and removal; if necessary, liaises with third‑party support and PC equipment vendors.
- Demonstrates efficiency in the application, orientation, and maintenance of RFID systems.
- Assists the network administrator in performing and maintaining electronic backups systematically of the end‑user desktop and timely updates to the computer’s security software.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Manager.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Microsoft Certified Professional Certifications.
- CompTIA A+ Certification.
- Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) – Preferred.
- 1+ years of experience in hardware troubleshooting, equipment support, networking, TCP/IP, DNS, Windows Workstation, Microsoft Office, Outlook.
- Excellent technical knowledge of PC internal components and desktop hardware.
- Working technical knowledge of current protocols, operating systems, and standards, including TCP/IP, DNS, Windows Workstation, Microsoft Office, and Outlook.
- Strong communication, customer service, and teamwork skills.
