IT Support Administrator – Role Overview

As an IT Support Administrator, you will work closely with all employees to ensure that they can work flawlessly without having to worry about IT issues. Reporting to the IT manager, you will work closely with other members of the team to make sure support requests are resolved within defined SLA providing level 2 support to the users. In this role, you will work in a high‑performing and fast‑paced work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Install and configure computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
  • Providing desktop support (Windows/Mac/Linux) and monitoring and maintaining of systems and networks.
  • Responding in a timely manner to service issues and requests through the helpdesk ticket system.
  • Providing technical support across the company (this may be in person or over Zoom/Google Meet).
  • Diagnosing and resolving technical issues related to Bayut and Dubizzle employees.
  • Setting up and configuring new laptops and desktops.
  • Ensuring security patches and upgrades are applied to desktops and laptops.
  • Antivirus installation on all desktops and laptops.
  • Reporting faults and maintaining logs on servers, desktops, and laptops.
  • Maintenance of print server and support of internal printer related issues.
  • Building and maintaining an inventory log of all IT assets.
  • Creating purchase requisitions for IT hardware/software.
  • Ensuring licensing for all software purchased is recorded and maintained.
  • Performing basic administrative support duties, as required, to meet specific operational objectives.

Qualifications
  • Degree in IT, Computer Science, or a relevant field.
  • Should have certifications like MCSE, or MCSA, or RHCE, or CCNA.
  • 3+ years experience in IT support.
  • Experience in active directory user provisioning and migrations.
  • Experience providing support for Apple products including Mac, iPhone and iPad.
  • Experience with helpdesk ticketing systems (e.g. ZenDesk, Solarwinds, Kayako).
  • Experience in ManageEngine products such as Desktop Central, Service Desk, etc.
  • Experience deploying enterprise antivirus solutions such as Sophos or SentinelOne.
  • Knowledge of basic networking concepts and advanced knowledge of desktop and server operating systems.
  • Basic understanding of Linux.
  • Troubleshooting skills in Windows/Mac/Linux (Ubuntu).
  • Demonstrated skills in configuring/managing any enterprise‑level routers/firewall like Cisco, Fortinet.
  • PBX/VOIP configuration and troubleshooting skills.
  • Cisco Meraki administration skills.
  • Office 365 provisioning and administration skills.
  • Administer and maintain wireless access points, VPN and company issued mobile devices.
  • Friendly attitude, with the ability to interact with several different personalities and levels of management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
