Job description

Basic Function:

Provide advice on interior design elements such as space planning, layout and use of furnishings and equipment, and color coordination.

Create a design plan that is functional, aesthetically pleasing, and serves the intended goal.

Choose or design the furniture, as well as the manufacturing, installation, and placement of flooring, fixtures, accessories, drapes, paint and wall coverings, artwork, and other associated objects. Advise the technical coordinator to ensure that the design specifications are included in the Shop Drawings for the contractors, as well as to provide comprehensive drawings and finishing schedules from which estimates may be calculated.

Performs other airport maintenance duties or management duties as directed by the reporting manager or higher management.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Responsible to develop/analyze detailed plans and 3-D models showing arrangement of airports, hangars, building, walls, furniture plans, dimension plans, wall elevations, wall schedules, floor plans etc. using computer-assisted design (CAD) software and graphics software.
2. Provide required feedback on interior design elements such as space planning, layout and use of furnishings and equipment, and color coordination.
3. Create design plans that is functional, aesthetically pleasing, and serves the intended goal.
4. Select or design the furniture, as well as the manufacturing, installation, and placement of flooring, fixtures, accessories, drapes, paint and wall coverings, artwork, and other associated objects.
5. Provide required feedback to the technical engineering team to ensure that the design specifications are included in the Shop Drawings for the contractors, as well as to provide comprehensive drawings and finishing schedules from which estimates may be calculated.
6. Responsible to ensure that airport interiors, including terminals and hangars, are functional, aesthetically pleasing, and aligned with operational requirements and company’s brand.
7. Develop detailed design plans and overseeing their implementation, optimize space utilization, improve passenger experience, and streamline project execution for the department.
8. Communicate timely with reporting manager or Airport Maintenance Manager on matters affecting operations and requiring attention or intervention.
9. Performs other operational or management duties as directed by the reporting manager or higher management.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or equivalent in a relevant field.

Professional Qualifications:

Certification in design software such as Photoshop, SketchUp, Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, 3D Max etc.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of job-related experience as an interior designer
