Job description

To inspect, analyze, advise and coordinate maintenance plans for simple & complex preventive maintenance, overhaul and condition monitoring programs for Instrument & control systems (level and pressure transmitters, controllers, level and pressure indicators, measuring elements, control valves, tubes, air compressors, air dryers and filters, heaters & vessels tools, etc.) across KJO onshore & offshore production facilities in compliance with annual maintenance plans ensuring reliability, integrity, uninterrupted operations and sustenance of high productivity standards.

Responsibilities
  • Applies approved section policies, processes, and procedures and monitors adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner.
  • Applies the day-to-day operations assigned for the Reliability Centred Maintenance section to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures.
  • Assists the Supervisor in the preparation of annual maintenance plans for preventive maintenance of all I&C systems & equipment within KJO onshore and offshore production facilities in line with overall division plans.
  • Prepares the monthly ‘Complex Preventive Maintenance’ plan for Central Workshop Division and the monthly ‘Simple Preventive Maintenance’ plans for Routine Onshore/Offshore Maintenance Divisions for related equipment & systems. Ensures these plans are in line with annual maintenance plans and are approved by the Supervisor.
  • Ensures all approved ‘Simple/Complex Preventive Maintenance’ operations are implemented according to plan by the responsible divisions in a timely and cost effective manner.
  • Assists in the development and improvement of predictive, preventive, modification and major maintenance programs for I&C systems & equipment; coordinates the on-site implementation of these maintenance/ improvement/ expansion projects at onshore & offshore production facilities, including assisting contractors on site, carrying out actual installation, connection, configuration and running tests on equipment prior to handover.
  • Under the direction of the Supervisor, prepares procedures for critical I&C systems & equipment maintenance and inspection jobs related to RMD activities
  • Follows up on major maintenance work and keeps abreast of equipment conditions, advices on spare part replacement, modifications or refurbishments and conducts complex fault finding diagnosis and repair of equipment.
  • Attends start-up, testing and commissioning of I&C systems & equipment at and reports to supervisor on acceptability.
  • Collates plant failure data and analyzes various statistical trends to establish priority of various tasks, MTTR, MTBF and assists the Supervisor in future decision making assuring plant integrity is adequate for continued operation.
  • Assist the Supervisor in decreasing unplanned repetitive forced equipment outages by conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of re-occurring problems and critical equipment failure.
  • Closely associates with corrosion monitoring and protection programme while coordinating and assisting inspections, surveys & work assessments of facilities and reports anomalies to the Superintendent or concerned departments and arranges for required maintenance.
  • Analyze equipment threats & hazards and ensure implementation of standard operating procedures in order to maintain the integrity of all equipment and assure adherence to safety standards.
  • Evaluates technical bids/proposals as directed by Supervisor and reviews specifications, drawings & other documents submitted by the contractor for operations related to scheduled preventive maintenance of I&C systems & equipment within KJO facilities.
  • Monitors and inspects contractors’ work on maintenance activities to ensure compliance with the terms & conditions of contract and reports any discrepancy between contract & actual work to his supervisor.
  • Reviews, checks & compiles daily work reports prepared by contractors on concerned work progress and reports to Supervisor.
  • Identifies material/equipment required for any sectional maintenance activities according to preventive maintenance schedule, work requisitions and coordinates in the timely availability of all requirements.
