Duties of the jobholder (within the area of responsibility)
Pre-Inspection Planning and Preparation
- Monitor daily schedules and email communications for newly assigned site inspection activities
- Conduct a comprehensive review of all project documentation, including technical drawings, bar bending schedules, and construction details relevant to inspection stages
- Prepare Inspection Reports (INR) with complete client and project information prior to site visits
- Establish client communication 24 hours in advance of scheduled inspections to coordinate timing and request required documentation
- Verify availability of current approved construction drawings and ensure alignment with project specifications
On-Site Inspection Activities
- Execute comprehensive physical site inspections in accordance with established protocols and safety requirements
- Conduct detailed visual assessments of construction work and collect photographic evidence for all required inspection points as specified in INR checklists
- Verify construction compliance against approved drawings and technical specifications
- Identify and document construction deviations, including structural discrepancies, missing reinforcement, improper installation, and workmanship deficiencies
- Communicate identified deviations to clients during inspection and advise on required corrective actions
- Ensure all photographic evidence is properly catalogued and stored in designated project files
Documentation and Reporting
- Prepare and issue appropriate inspection reports based on site conditions:
- INR reports for compliant work or minor deviations corrected during inspection
- Schedule revisits for multiple minor defects requiring correction
- Issue RD5 reports for major deviations requiring formal documentation and stakeholder notification
- Submit comprehensive daily reports to the project deliverables database via AppSheet
- Provide daily status summaries to the Team Leader via email, categorizing inspection outcomes and scheduling requirements
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all inspection activities and findings
Client and Stakeholder Communication
- Maintain professional and effective communication with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders
- Provide technical explanations and guidance regarding inspection requirements and compliance standards
- Coordinate revisit schedules when corrective actions are required
- Ensure timely notification to the Team Leader for major deviations requiring escalation
Qualification / minimum requirements (Education, work experience, other skills, etc.)
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in civil construction inspection
- Professional Registration: Current registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers
- Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of construction practices, materials, and quality control procedures

- Physical endurance for extended periods of field work
- Ability to carry inspection equipment and tools (up to 20 kg)
