Job Title: ILOC Logistic Control Specialist

Salary: Competitive

JOB PURPOSE

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

The Integrated Logistics Operation Centre (ILOC) Logistics Control Specialist is responsible for managing and controlling RSAF assets to maintain Fleet availability and capability. The role is based at King Fahad Air Base (KFdAB) Taif within the Typhoon Support Centre (TSC).

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • As directed, plan tasks allocated, to ensure they meet the time and quality requirements of the Typhoon operation and the Regulatory Framework for Logistics.
  • Coordinate Logistics task planning and prioritisation, meetings with appropriate Typhoon stakeholders, ensuring the Logistic Control Senior Specialist is informed and aware of all outcomes.
  • Provide day to day liaison with the Typhoon stakeholder community to ensure allocated tasks are correctly prioritised against established and emergent requirements.
  • As required, produce and distribute reports and returns as directed by the Logistics Control Senior Specialist.
  • Compile the Weekly Maintenance Capability Performance Review, in order to brief senior management on the status of performance and Fleet status.
  • Record, track and report progress of tasks, to ensure schedules are achieved.
  • Compile the ILOC daily brief, in order to brief senior management on the status of performance and Fleet status.
  • As directed, providing counterpart development for all staff, RSAF or other Saudi Nationals, assigned to the ILOC in the form of coaching, consolidation and work experience as appropriate.
  • Monitor and progress AOG and AO2 demands, notifying the Logistics Control Senior Specialist if there will be an effect on Fleet availability and/or capability.
  • Maintaining the aircraft Typhoon Aircraft State Sheet (TASS) is current and updated.
  • Carrying out Aircraft cannibalisation as per process. Discussing any potential issues with the Logistic Control Senior Specialist.
  • Producing and distributing ILOC Tasking Letters, MoDSAP Requests, Technical Requests and any other ILOC communication as directed by the Logistic Control Senior Specialist.
  • Be accountable for Critical Assets Obsolescence monitoring.
  • Be accountable for identification of alternate parts.
  • Be accountable for Strategic demand placement and monitoring.
  • Be accountable for timely ordering of time and event change items to meet strategic demands of the Typhoon fleet (Strategic Plans and Schedules).
  • Be accountable for priority demand progression with the RSAF/Prime Contractor Supply organisation.
  • Be accountable for Team Centre progression.
  • Understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the TTP 131 Specialist and carrying out all required duties in their absence.
  • Encourage and champion Change Management and act as effective Change Agent as directed.
  • Undertake any additional tasks as directed by the RSAF/TSC Commander, ILOC Manager and/or the Logistic Control Senior Specialist.
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
  • Educated to degree, or equivalent, in an Aeronautical / Engineering discipline or have experience within the military.
  • Strong academic record and understanding of core engineering principles.
  • Demonstrable ability to plan and deliver tasks to demanding deadlines.
  • Problem solving skills and the ability to manage work direction in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Developed interpersonal skills to track and report on a large number of diverse activities and the ability to communicate, influence and direct the decision making process at all levels.
  • Experience of aircraft operation, maintenance and support.
  • Experience of Typhoon or another fast jet platform.
  • Experience in a military aircraft support/maintenance environment at Supervisory level.
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
