Job summary

A leading power and water company in Saudi Arabia is seeking an experienced HSE professional to provide plant-based support for health, safety, and environmental awareness initiatives. The candidate should have a diploma or bachelor’s degree in safety or related fields, along with relevant certifications such as NEBOSH or OSHA. A minimum of 8 years' experience, including 4 years in a similar facility, is required. Strong communication skills in English and/or Arabic are essential, along with a robust understanding of safety management systems and regulations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring compliance and safety across operations.

Qualifications

  • 8 years’ experience in a related field required, at least 4 years in a similar facility preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support building HSE awareness at the field level.
  • Monitor validity of equipment certifications and operator licenses.
  • Conduct walk around checks for HSE controls.
  • Record and report all incidents to plant HSE Engineer.
  • Ensure training and drills are implemented as part of the HSE program.

Job description
Job Summary

This is plant-based position providing support to build HSE awareness at the field level by working closely with power and water plants operations. This position will report directly to the plant HSE Engineer or Corporate HSE Manager.

  • Ensure the availability of medical facilities and medicines in the ambulance
  • Monitor the validity of certification of equipment and operator license
  • Supporting Corporate Occupational Health Programs e.g. Get Healthy Stay Healthy Program, Stress Management, Quit Smoking Programs, Diet and Exercise etc.
  • Conduct walk around checks regularly to monitor HSE controls
  • Ensure availability of first aid measures at locations
  • Perform the duties of HSE engineer during his vacation
  • Other HSE duties as assigned by the plant HSE Engineer
  • Support the HSE Manager, HSE Engineer and plant team with planning, coordinating and implementing company HSE policy, guidelines and procedures to ensure that the HSE department objectives are met.
  • Provide support to O & M teams in all aspects of safety, occupational health, safety and environmental issues.
  • Provide support to the department on the implementation of Company-wide HSE initiatives e.g PBS, 5S, PSM etc.
  • Working with operations and maintenance employees to promote permit to work system and ensure safety of everyone involved in the processes.
  • Identify non-compliant, incomplete or substandard procedures, for activities involving employees and/or contractors in the plant.
  • Assisting field staff and contractors in the caring and inspection of their PPE.
  • Responsible for recording and reporting of all incidents and documentation to plant HSE Engineer.
  • Maintain company policies and HSE program by providing education to all field employees and contractors.
  • Inspections of equipment logbooks and records e.g. scaffolding, ladders, cranes, tools, work equipment, power tools etc.
  • Supporting the company incentive and promotional Programs as announced by Corporate.
  • Promoting the HSE Observation and Communication programs involving owner and contractors HSE officers.
  • Inspection of portable fire extinguisher, safety eye-wash / shower station and keeping their maintenance records.
  • Assisting HSE Engineer in risk assessment process and maintenance of identified control.
  • Ensure training, tool box meetings, and drills are implemented as part of the company’s HSE program, i.e. emergency response systems, etc.
  • Conduct and coordinate HSE trainings and induction to all new employees and contractors.
  • Develop and circulate Environment reports to Corporate Environment Engineer and plant management.
  • Coordinate HSE emergency drills and reports.
  • Ensure continuous control on identified risks.
Educational Requirements

Desired: Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Safety or related fields
