Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of HSE experience, preferably in commercial real estate, construction, or facilities management.
  • Experience with OSHA regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations (EPA, state, and local).

Position Description

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Officer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive health, safety, and environmental programs across commercial real estate operations. This role ensures compliance with all applicable regulations while fostering a culture of safety excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement site-specific safety programs and procedures
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; prepare detailed reports
  • Lead safety meetings and toolbox talks for employees and contractors
  • Monitor compliance with OSHA, local, and company safety standards
Environmental Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permits
  • Manage waste management programs and hazardous material handling
  • Conduct environmental monitoring and reporting
  • Coordinate environmental assessments and remediation activities
  • Maintain environmental management systems
Training & Communication
  • Develop and deliver HSE training programs for all personnel
  • Create and maintain safety documentation, policies, and procedures
  • Communicate HSE requirements to contractors and vendors
  • Facilitate emergency response drills and procedures
Regulatory & Reporting
  • Maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and inspectors
  • Prepare and submit required regulatory reports and documentation
  • Stay current with changing HSE regulations and industry best practices
  • Manage permits, licenses, and certifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Professional certifications preferred (CSP, CIH, CHMM, or equivalent)
  • First Aid/CPR certification required
Experience
  • 3-5 years of HSE experience, preferably in commercial real estate, construction, or facilities management
  • Experience with OSHA regulations and compliance requirements
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations (EPA, state, and local)
