We are seeking a dedicated and experienced HSE Engineer to join our team in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring high standards of health, safety, and environmental practices within our organization. The HSE Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with local and international safety regulations. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying potential hazards and implementing effective control measures to mitigate risks. The successful candidate will work closely with various departments to promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility throughout the organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures in compliance with local and international regulations.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on safety practices, emergency procedures, and environmental management.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, prepare detailed reports, and recommend preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure safety protocols are integrated into all phases of project planning and execution.
- Monitor and report on safety performance metrics, ensuring continuous improvement in health and safety standards.
- Stay updated on industry trends, legislation, and best practices related to health, safety, and environmental management.
- Assist in the development of emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure preparedness for potential incidents.
- Engage with regulatory bodies and participate in safety inspections and audits as required.
- Promote a positive safety culture within the organization by encouraging employee participation in safety initiatives.
Preferred Candidate
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in HSE roles, preferably within the construction or industrial sectors.
- Strong knowledge of local and international health and safety regulations and standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with employees at all levels.
- Proven ability to lead safety training sessions and workshops.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Certification in HSE management systems (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is highly desirable.
