Job description
Summary of the Role

As a Hospitality Design Engineer for a real estate developer, you are the company's primary technical expert on hotel projects. Your main purpose is to ensure that all new-build or renovated hotels are built to the specific technical standards of the hotel brand (e.g., Marriott, Hilton) while also adhering to the developer's budget and schedule.

You act as the critical bridge between the developer's financial goals, the hotel brand's requirements, and the construction team.

Key Responsibilities
Brand Compliance
  • Forcefully review all architectural and engineering plans to guarantee every detail meets the hotel brand's technical standards.
  • Cost & Value Management: Lead "value engineering" efforts to find cost-saving alternatives in design and materials that do not compromise quality or brand approval.
  • Technical Oversight: Manage all third-party engineers and technical consultants, review their work for accuracy, and coordinate all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems.
Project Management
  • Oversee the technical aspects of construction, review change orders, and manage the final testing (commissioning) of all building systems before handing the hotel over to the operations team.
  • Engineering degree (Mechanical / Electrical or Architecture).
  • 5-7+ years of project management or engineering experience.
  • Non-negotiable: A proven portfolio of experience working on new hotel construction or major hospitality renovation projects.
  • Expertise or good knowledge in MEP systems, hotel-specific systems, and building codes.
  • Strong financial acumen and negotiation skills.
