About the job High School English Teacher

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated High School English Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of the English language, a deep understanding of literature, grammar, and writing instruction, and the ability to engage students in meaningful learning experiences. The teacher will be responsible for creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student learning, critical thinking, and a love for reading and writing.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with the school’s curriculum and educational standards.

Teach English literature, composition, grammar, and vocabulary to students in grades 9‑12.

Foster a classroom environment that encourages participation, creativity, and academic achievement.

Assess student progress regularly through assignments, tests, presentations, and class participation.

Provide constructive feedback to students and communicate academic progress with parents/guardians.

Prepare students for standardized tests and college readiness assessments.

Incorporate technology and diverse teaching methods to enhance learning.

Participate in faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and school events.

Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance.

Uphold school policies, discipline, and ethical guidelines.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

Valid state teaching certification/license for secondary English.

Proven experience teaching high school English (minimum 2 years preferred).

Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to manage a classroom effectively and maintain a positive learning environment.
