Job description
Purpose of the Job

To monitor safety on the terminal by actively being involved in day-to-day operations through patrolling, observation, and stopping unsafe acts. Provide assistance to departments requesting safety input. Respond, investigate, and report on all accidents, incidents, and near misses. Conduct inspections and audits across all areas of RSGT to improve safety awareness and processes. Work with management to ensure compliance with JIP safety regulations.

Education / Minimum Requirements
  • Secondary school and vocational instruction and/or college degree in safety management, environmental science, or related discipline.
  • Professional membership if applicable.
Required Experience

Technical:

  • Completion of secondary school and vocational instruction and/or college degree in safety management, environmental science, or related discipline (work experience may substitute for degree).
  • 5–10 years of safety and/or firefighting experience in public or private sector (education may substitute for some experience).

Interpersonal:

  • Ability to conduct safety and fire inspections of construction projects, buildings, and property.
  • Capable of wearing SCBA and performing first aid and CPR.
  • Strong communication skills in English (Arabic preferred).
  • Understanding of firefighting, rescue techniques, chemical hazards, hazardous materials handling, and international safety standards.
  • Physically fit, able to work in extreme conditions, rotating shifts, and handle heights/enclosed spaces.
Key Responsibilities
  • Substitute for Senior HSE Officer, HSE Supervisor, or HSE Superintendent when required.
  • Conduct documented safety inspections and advise on hazards.
  • Ensure PPE compliance and update safety notice boards.
  • Assist in HSSE training for company personnel.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; report in eSMS.
  • Respond to emergency situations per EPRP and coordinate with JIP/Civil Defence when needed.
  • Supervise hazardous activities (e.g., brake bulk discharge, DG chemicals, critical lifts).
  • Conduct toolbox talks (TBT) and safety inductions.
  • Perform planned facility inspections and site safety checks.
  • Provide first aid and assist in transporting injured personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards for OOG cargo and DG handling.
