Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Saudi Arabia is looking for an experienced design manager to oversee engineering work for various projects. The role requires proficiency in design management and ten years of engineering design or construction experience. A bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is essential, while a master's degree or PhD is preferred. Candidates should be familiar with international design standards, particularly those applicable in the Middle East. Proficiency in English is required, and knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Responsible forthe design team management
• Responsible for the design/technical management related to engineering work of bidding projects and ongoing projects. Cooperate with department head to carry out specific technical management work for the company's various projects, mainly including the assessment of technical risk, preparation of Structuralrequirements for infrastructure projects, technical planning, technical solutions, construction organization plan, and optimization during the project marketing and implementation stages, and organize the resolution of technical issue in key and difficult projects.
• Responsible for structural design, design review and design optimization.
• Keep in close touch with consultant companies, collaborate with third-party resources to address practical issues effectively.
• Complete other tasks assigned by leaders and accept short-term business trips.

Skills

• Minimum three years Experience in design management as a head of design department in large or medium-sized design consultant companies
• A Bachelor's Degree in Civil / Structure Engineering. A Master's Degree or PhD in Civil / Structure Engineering is preferred but not required.
• Minimum ten (10) years of professional engineering design or construction experience.
• Chartered Member professional bodies in Civil / Structure Discipline.
• Familiarity with international Structure design standards, especially adopted in projects in Middle East countries.
• With a wide range of Structure experience covering building, road and bridge, marineworks.
• Proficient in professional software.
• Proficient in spoken and written English, knowledge of Arabic is advantageous.
