Job summary

A leading reporting firm in Saudi Arabia is seeking an experienced data analyst to manage external reporting and compliance with governmental standards. The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and at least 6 years in data analysis, particularly in customs, zakat, and tax. Strong skills in SQL and reporting tools are essential. This role also requires excellent analytical abilities and effective communication skills to respond rapidly to leadership requests.

Deliver External Reports to Governmental Entities and Stakeholders
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Gather data from various internal and external sources relevant to governmental reporting requirements.
  • Analyse data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and relevance for external reporting.
  • Report Preparation and Formatting: Prepare detailed reports that meet the specific requirements of governmental entities and stakeholders. Ensure reports are formatted according to external standards and guidelines.
  • Compliance and Verification: Verify that all data included in external reports complies with regulatory and compliance standards. Conduct thorough reviews and audits of reports to ensure accuracy and integrity.
  • Submission and Communication: Submit reports to governmental entities and stakeholders within specified deadlines. Communicate effectively with external parties to address any queries or clarifications regarding the reports.
Handle Urgent and Ad-Hoc Requests from Senior Leadership with Short Turnaround Times
  • Request Management: Receive and prioritize urgent and ad-hoc requests from senior leadership. Assess the scope and requirements of each request to determine the necessary actions.
  • Rapid Data Analysis and Reporting: Quickly gather and analyze relevant data to respond to urgent requests. Prepare concise and accurate reports or presentations to address the specific needs of senior leadership.
  • Coordination and Collaboration: Coordinate with various departments and teams to gather necessary information and insights. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure timely and effective responses to urgent requests.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all urgent reports and responses maintain high standards of accuracy and quality. Implement checks and validations to prevent errors and ensure reliability of information.
Maintain Compliance with External Data and Format Standards
  • Regulatory Awareness: Stay informed about relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines for external reporting. Ensure all reports adhere to the latest compliance requirements.
  • Standardisation: Develop and maintain standardized templates and formats for external reports. Implement best practices for data presentation and reporting to meet external standards.
Prioritize Critical Issues and Enable Fast, Responsive Reporting
  • Issue Identification and Prioritisation: Identify critical issues that require immediate attention and reporting. Prioritise tasks and allocate resources to address high-priority issues effectively.
  • Responsive Reporting Processes: Develop streamlined processes for fast and responsive reporting. Implement tools and technologies to enhance the speed and efficiency of report generation.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 6 years of experience in internal reporting, data analysis, or a related field. Proven experience in developing reports within customs, zakat, and tax domains is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Strong experience in SQL and working with different data warehouse technologies; Teradata experience is a plus. Proficiency in reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms. Strong knowledge of data analysis techniques and statistical methods. Experience with data integration and automation tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R).
  • Soft Skills: Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in data analytics or reporting (e.g., Certified Analytics Professional) are a plus.
