Our client is a leading conglomerate of companies who currently seek to appoint a General Manager for one of their Waterproofing companies within their Building Products Division. This newly created role has been created to enable strategic focus to the firm and to optimise the firm’s sales management, operations management and general management. The key criteria of this role are to manage the operation, optimise efficiency and drive the revenue growth.

Reporting to the Sector CEO, the proven performer we seek will be responsible for the following:

• Direct, lead and performance manage the company and direct management of an executive team and indirect management of a team of 60.
• Direct team to meet organizational strategic and operational objectives from a sales, production, corporate service, corporate governance, commercial and technical and engineering perspective.
• Market analysis of current markets as well as potential new markets for the firm.
• Manage, monitor and achieve projected budgets and revenue and manage / control production costs and expenditure.
• Build an effective and efficient production process that is lean to remain competitive in the current marketplace.
• Review of strategic and operational plans.
• Revision of organizational structure to support strategic plan.
• Be the key representative for the firm in relation to clients and stakeholders.
• Build forward sales for the company’s books for 2013 to maximize production capacity.
• Submit monthly management reports as required on company revenue and performance to the Board of Directors.
• Ensure minimal Health and safety incident across the company.

Attributes:

• Degree in Engineering, Commerce, Manufacturing or comparable and possess a minimum of 7 years’ experience in the waterproofing sector and at least 2 years’ experience in the GCC markets being essential.
• Abilities to penetrate markets and open new markets for global growth are essential albeit in a competitive market.
• Candidates must be proven leaders in comparable industry who embrace innovation.
• Strong project management and production / workflow management expertise in terms of design, financial, production and installation.
• The exceptional communicator must have strong commercial acumen and will ideally have networks across the waterproofing industry. The ability to work across various levels of management and within a multi-cultural environment is essential.
• A good command of English (written and verbal) is necessary. Arabic will be an advantage.
