Job description

Sirdab is a tech-ops focused startup offering cloud warehousing and transportation / logistics solutions. We have built an end-to-end logistics platform that allows businesses to acquire dry, ambient, chilled and frozen warehousing space within 48 hours as well as manage, optimize and distribute inventory via a single platform. We are empowering businesses to expand and thrive by offering state-of-the-art logistics services–warehousing, freight, and distribution–through a fully integrated platform that is accessible precisely when and where they need it.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of scoping and implementing new projects and features in a full stack Rails webapp
• Lead implementation of upgrading our core product to the next level or releasing new products
• Establish and guide the architecture of several web applications
• Build leverage: a one-week task today should be a 10 minute task next year
• Proactively find ways to improve the codebase and team workflows
• Research and lead adoption of new systems/technologies
• Mentor junior engineers and constructively challenge senior engineers to achieve better outcomes
• Maintain a high technical bar via code reviews, testing, and sound coding practices
• Collaborate with internal designers and engineers as needed

Requirements

• 5+ years software engineering experience
• 2+ years experience working with Ruby on Rails and REST APIs
• Non-zero experience writing frontend code
• Ability to work as a fullstack Rails engineer. You don\'t need to be an expert from day 1, but by day 90 you need to become proficient with the full Rails stack including Hotwire/Turbo/Stimulus
• You have an impact-oriented mindset and prioritize delivering customer value over other concerns
• You are a product-minded engineer who wants to become a domain expert and refine ambiguous product requirements to deliver customer value
• You’re excited about working at a fast paced startup where you can have outsized impact by wearing different hats and resolving ambiguity
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent verbal and written English communication
• A good team spirit and strong commitment to achieving results
• Passion and drive to constantly learn new things
