Job Purpose

Oversee and coordinate mechanical construction activities to ensure the successful installation and functioning of mechanical systems within the project. Manage construction crews, subcontractors, and resources related to mechanical components.

Key Accountability Areas

Supervision and Coordination of Mechanical Installations

  • Oversee and coordinate the installation and maintenance of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and other components, to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications.
  • Assign tasks to mechanical construction workers based on their skills and project requirements, optimizing the use of labor and resources.

Project Planning and Communication for Mechanical Systems

  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to grasp mechanical system requirements, project plans, and schedules.
  • Effectively communicate mechanical system information to the construction teams.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate project schedules for mechanical installations, coordinating with different teams to ensure activities progress according to the established timeline.
  • Maintain effective communication with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, providing updates and addressing concerns.

Quality Control, Safety, and Regulation

  • Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure that mechanical work meets or exceeds established standards and specifications.
  • Enforce safety protocols and regulations specific to mechanical systems, maintaining a secure working environment for all personnel.

Issue Resolution and Record-Keeping for Mechanical Systems

  • Identify and resolve any issues or challenges related to mechanical systems during the construction process, collaborating with construction teams to find practical solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of mechanical construction activities, including daily logs, progress reports, and any changes or modifications made during the construction phase.

Budgetary Control and Team Leadership for Mechanical Installations

  • Stay aware of budgetary constraints related to mechanical components and assist in controlling costs by monitoring expenses and reporting concerns to project management.
  • Lead and motivate mechanical construction teams, fostering a positive and productive working environment.
