Job summary

A leading aquaculture company in Saudi Arabia is seeking an experienced Fish Nursery Supervisor to oversee daily operations of marine fish nursery units. You will lead a technical team in producing high-quality fry, ensuring adherence to bio-security and quality control protocols. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of supervisory experience and a Technical College degree in Aquaculture or Marine Biology.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a large-scale marine fish nursery.

Responsibilities

  • Organize staff schedules and allocate daily tasks.
  • Oversee feeding strategies and manage fish health.
  • Manage water treatment and life support systems.
  • Maintain accurate daily records.

Job description

NAQUA is expanding its operations to support a massive on-growing production target of 50,000 tons. We are seeking a hands‑on Fish Nursery Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our marine fish nursery units.

About the Role

Reporting to the Nursery Manager, you will lead a technical team in producing high-quality 2-5 gram fry, ensuring strict adherence to bio‑security, quality control, and continuous improvement protocols.

Responsibilities
  • Operational Leadership: Organize staff schedules and allocate daily tasks (tank cleaning, grading, sorting, and deliveries).
  • Production Management: Oversee feeding strategies and manage fish health from weaning to pre‑growout transfer.
  • System Integrity: Manage water treatment and life support systems to ensure a problem‑free, bio‑secure environment.
  • Data & Reporting: Maintain accurate daily records regarding mortality, fish movements, consumable usage, and staff utilization.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor consumable stocks and manage timely reordering.
  • Continuous Improvement: Assist in developing SOPs, managing budgets, and conducting staff appraisals.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a large‑scale marine fish nursery.
  • Education: Technical College Graduate in a relevant field (Aquaculture, Marine Biology, etc.).
Required Skills
  • Strong understanding of Aquaculture Engineering Principles.
  • Expertise in fish disease prevention and control.
  • Excellent logistical and staff management abilities.
  • Computer literate and proficient in spoken/written English.
  • Other: Valid Driving License.
