Job Description
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Fire and Life safety to join our team on King Salman International Airport (KSIA)! In this role you will get to designs, implements, and manages fire protection and life safety systems, ensuring compliance with regulations, enhancing safety, and mitigating risks in buildings and infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Designs and develops fire protection and life safety systems, including fire alarms, sprinklers, smoke control, emergency lighting, and evacuation systems.
- Ensures compliance with local, national, and international fire safety codes, regulations, and standards in all projects.
- Collaborates with architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders to integrate fire life safety systems into the overall building design.
- Conducts fire risk assessments and hazard analyses to determine appropriate safety measures and fire protection strategies.
- Prepares detailed design documents, including system layouts, technical specifications, and calculations, for fire protection systems.
- Reviews and approves fire safety designs, ensuring they meet project requirements, safety standards, and client expectations.
- Oversees the installation, testing, and commissioning of fire protection systems, ensuring functionality and safety standards are met.
- Provides technical expertise and guidance to project teams, contractors, and clients regarding fire life safety design and best practices.
- Performs site inspections to verify proper system installation and compliance with design specifications.
- Stays current on fire protection technologies, codes, standards, and industry best practices to ensure designs reflect the latest safety innovations.
- Performs other duties related to fire life safety design, risk management, and project coordination.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of experience in fire protection and life safety engineering.
- Certifications: Professional certification or licensure (e.g., PE, CFPS) is preferred.
- Specialized Experience: Experience in aviation projects is highly advantageous.
- Additional Requirements: Familiarity with Request for Bid (RFB) processes is required.
Skills/Competencies
- Strong knowledge of fire protection systems, life safety codes, and regulations
- Proficiency in fire safety design software (e.g., AutoCAD, BIM) and MS Office Suite
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to conduct fire risk assessments and develop fire safety strategies
- Experience in project management and coordinating the implementation of fire protection systems
