Job summary

A leading financial management firm in Saudi Arabia is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee financial performance and budgeting. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in project-based industries, strong strategic and interpersonal skills, and relevant qualifications (ACA, ACCA, or CPA). This position offers an opportunity to work closely with senior management and ensure compliance and financial accuracy.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of working experience in project-based industry.
  • 5+ years in a similar management position.
  • Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.

Job description

Assess and evaluate financial performance of an organization with regard to long‑term operational goals, budgets, and forecasts. Provide insight and recommendations to both short‑term and long‑term growth plans of the organization.

  • Create and establish regular financial objectives that align with the organizational plan for growth and expansion.
  • Prepare and present regular financial budgeting reports including monthly profit and loss, forecast vs. budget and monthly cash flow.
  • Review and analyze monthly financial results and provide recommendations.
  • Works side‑by‑side with CFO and Project Manager and serves as the Controller of Finances on the project team.
  • Reports to CFO and supports him as required.
  • Develop and maintain monthly operating budget and annual organizational operating budget.
  • Supervise the accounting and finance department to ensure the proper functioning of all systems and databases.
  • Review and ensure application of appropriate internal controls, compliance, and financial procedures.
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial and management reporting data available for management and Board of Directors.
  • Oversee the preparation and communication of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Oversee the month‑end close process, constantly reviewing procedures while eliminating inefficiencies.
  • Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools and control systems.
  • Manage cash flow planning process and ensure funds availability.
  • Arrange loans from local banks and negotiate suitable rates with them.
  • Oversee cash, liquidity and net working capital ratio.

Skills

Qualification, Skills & Requirements.

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • ACA, ACCA, or CPA.
  • Experience with Big 4 is a plus.
  • 10 years+ working experience preferably in project‑based industry.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar management position.
  • Fluent in English (Arabic is a plus).
  • Used to working in a dynamic and fluid growth environment.
  • Have strong strategic, commercial, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong planning, problem‑solving and organizational skills and is able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Transferable Iqama.
