JOB SCOPE
Conduct and support planned and unplanned maintenance of assets. Ensure optimum availability and efficiency of asset. Apply technical expertise and analytical and innovative troubleshooting capabilities to overcome the abnormalities. Ensure work activities are performed efficiently and effectively. Ensure maintenance activities are following operational priorities. Effectively respond to operational abnormalities.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure day-to-day work is performed effectively, efficiently, and safely in order to increase refinery reliability/integrity and promote safety & compliance to environmental standards.
- Inspect, examine, and test installed systems, use of alloys, pipelines, corrosion control, metal equipment repairs, using various tools, hydrostatic testing, observation, or other methods.
- Lay out full scale drawings of systems, supports, and related equipment, following blueprints. Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair according to specifications.
- Select pipe sizes and types and related materials, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to specifications. Order proper pipes and other materials.
- Assemble materials at job site. Must be familiar with flange torquing procedures, equipment, and specifications.
- Select type and size of pipe and metal material needed, ensuring the integrity of the pipes that will transport oil, gas or steam.
- Read layouts, design piping, threading specification, welding, installation of vents and valves. Inspect work sites for obstructions and to ensure that holes will not cause structural weakness.
- Attend emergency situation or a sudden issue and rapidly establish the nature of problem and swiftly act to fix the problem or elevate it to supplementary support.
- Make sketches of work to be performed, search materials catalogue, prepare written parts and materials requests and arrange for delivery of materials.
- Assure safety measures are observed. Install, troubleshoot, repair and modify in the shop or field, equipment, motors, systems and control devices in oil producing, processing, shipping, power generation or distribution facilities.
- Analyze faults, find out malfunction, breakdown or failure, disassemble equipment and appliances, make diagrams, replace or repair parts and reassemble. Adhere to safety regulations and codes, comply with standards.
- Field work includes layout, assembly, installation, testing, repair and safety checks on company-wide systems/equipment.
- Work on diagrams, engineering drawings and equipment specifications. Make calculations for load requirements and choose appropriate.
- Install, troubleshoot, repair and modify in the shop or field, equipment, motors, systems and control devices in oil producing, processing, shipping, and power generation or distribution facilities.
- Maintain and adjust supply and production equipment to maximize operating performance.
- Locate and diagnose faults on equipment or systems which may involve complex interlocking or inter-related work.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the direct supervisor.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Education: Two (2) years Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Years of work experience: Five (05) years of relevant experience.
