The Farm Manager ensures that agricultural targets are met efficiently and profitably, applying best agronomic practices while managing the farm's human, material, and financial resources.

Key Responsibilities
1. Agricultural Planning & Crop Management
  • Develop seasonal and annual crop production plans for both greenhouse and open-field areas, including crop selection, planting schedules, and harvest projections.
  • Implement integrated crop management programs (ICM) covering soil preparation, fertilization, irrigation scheduling, pest and disease control, and post-harvest handling.
  • Monitor crop growth stages and conduct regular field inspections to identify and promptly address agronomic issues.
  • Maintain up-to-date production records for all crops including planting dates, inputs applied, yields, and quality assessments.
  • Coordinate with technical specialists and agronomists to introduce improved varieties and updated cultivation techniques.
  • Oversee the management of greenhouses including environmental controls (temperature, humidity, ventilation), hydroponics or substrate systems, and irrigation infrastructure.
2. Operations Management & Execution
  • Supervise and direct all daily farm operations, ensuring tasks are executed on schedule and to the required quality standard.
  • Plan and coordinate farm machinery and equipment usage, maintenance schedules, and repairs in coordination with the maintenance team.
  • Manage irrigation systems (drip, sprinkler, surface) and ensure optimal water use efficiency across all cultivation areas.
  • Oversee the application of inputs (seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, amendments) and ensure correct handling, storage, and disposal in line with health and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate planting, harvesting, grading, packing, and dispatch operations to meet delivery commitments.
  • Implement and enforce biosecurity and Good Agricultural Practice (GAP) protocols across all farm activities.
3. Human Resources & Team Management
  • Recruit, onboard, train, and evaluate farm workers, supervisors, and technical staff.
  • Prepare work schedules and task assignments for all farm personnel, ensuring adequate coverage during peak seasons.
  • Conduct regular performance appraisals and provide coaching and corrective guidance as needed.
  • Foster a positive, safety-conscious team culture and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) standards.
  • Coordinate with HR on labor contracts, attendance records, and workforce planning.
  • Prepare the annual farm budget in collaboration with management, covering all operational expenditures, capital items, and revenue projections.
  • Monitor and control all farm expenditures against approved budgets; analyze variances and implement corrective measures.
  • Maintain detailed cost records per crop cycle, production unit, and activity type to enable accurate cost-of-production analysis.
  • Oversee procurement of all farm inputs and services, ensuring competitive pricing, quality verification, and proper documentation.
  • Coordinate with the accounts department on invoicing, payment processing, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare regular financial and production performance reports for senior management, including monthly P&L summaries by cost center.
  • Manage fixed asset records for farm equipment and infrastructure and coordinate depreciation schedules with finance.
5. Compliance, Safety & Environmental Stewardship
  • Ensure full compliance with Saudi Arabian agricultural regulations, Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA) guidelines, and municipal requirements.
  • Implement and monitor the farm's environmental management plan, including waste reduction, water recycling, and responsible chemical use.
  • Maintain all regulatory licenses, permits, and certifications required for farm operations.
  • Lead accident and incident investigations and implement preventive measures to eliminate recurrence.
6. Reporting & Communication
  • Produce weekly operational status reports, monthly production and financial. summaries, and seasonal performance reviews.
  • Represent the farm in meetings with suppliers, customers, government inspectors, and company management.
  • Coordinate with the sales and marketing team to align production output with market demand and pricing strategy.
Qualifications & Requirements
