Job description

The Facilities Supervisor – Maintenance, will have a significant impact on customer experience. The Supervisor will have the ability to lead other technicians, design solutions for challenging problems, manage outside contractors, be on call for emergencies, to handle multiple projects and daily activities, and meet timelines.

The Supervisor will develop plans on how to accomplish engineering departmental goals and will be responsible for the leadership / development and coaching of the team through Performance Management.

This role also leads the technical team in providing both a reactive and pro-active maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure within the Amazon Facility.

The role has a direct impact on the site, its productivity and operational success. If equipment is not available or performs badly it minimizes the capacity and throughput of the site.

Key job responsibilities
  • Put health & safety best practices first in all work carried out ensuring compliance with all health & safety standards and regulations.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on the full range of equipment within the site.
  • React quickly to breakdowns, communicate clearly with affected stakeholders and work efficiently to fix the issue.
  • Support continuous improvement by learning from breakdowns and sending feedback and suggestions for improvements through the line manager.
  • Provide high levels of equipment availability to our internal customers.
  • Support and learn from Senior Reliability Engineering Technicians.
  • Management of contractors
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelors of Engineering in Mechanical / Industrial / Electronics / Automation / Control Systems
  • Experience of 1 to 2 years of conveyors / automation / control systems maintenance
  • Experience of planned preventative maintenance systems.
  • Experience fault finding within MHE (Material Handling Equipment) / Automation systems.
  • Experience in interpreting both mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Experience of conveyor maintenance, motor controllers / inverters.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Auto-CAD drawing
  • Experience of sortation machines
  • Experience in troubleshooting through PLC
  • Understanding of sustainability concepts, such as energy-saving initiatives, waste management, and best facility practices.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, fire system, electrical, and mechanical systems is a plus.
  • Ability to work in high-volume warehouse environment and respond promptly to breakdowns.
