Job description
Overview

Manage the daily operations of the department by planning and executing integrated cultural and tourism events that highlight the heritage value of Historic Jeddah and enhance its position as a year-round tourist destination by delivering high-quality experiences that align with strategic directions and meet visitor expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Develop the section’s operational plans in alignment with the Department’s operations plan and cascaded targets and identify the budget, annual manpower needs, and projects that are required to achieve these plans
  • Develop suitable policies and procedures for the section and periodically monitor their application and effectiveness
  • Oversee, supervise, and enable direct subordinates to ensure they are able to perform their assigned responsibilities
  • Oversee activities related to recruitment, training and development, performance management, succession planning, and promotions of employees within the section
  • Align periodically with the section’s team and monitor their performance against operational and strategic objectives and KPIs
  • Manage the initiatives and projects related to the section and monitor their progress and performance
  • Develop periodic reports to the Department Director on performance and achievements against the operational plan and KPIs
  • Manage the daily operations related to designing comprehensive annual event plans that reflect the identity of Historic Jeddah and enhance its position as a distinctive cultural destination, by organizing heritage events that express the unique character of the area and integrating them with modern programs that meet visitor expectations and add value to their experience.
  • Prepare concepts for high-quality, interactive events that focus on cultural and heritage storytelling and aim to attract a diverse range of local and international visitors.
  • Manage audience and visitor behavioral studies and analyses to guide event planning based on well-researched data, ensuring experiences are designed to meet visitor expectations.
  • Oversee operational plans for events covering organizational, logistical, and technical aspects in accordance with quality standards and the operational efficiency requirements of the area.
  • Coordinate with all relevant entities and partners, including regulatory authorities, security agencies, and sponsors, to ensure smooth and safe event execution.
  • Manage the daily operations of on-site event execution by overseeing operational processes, monitoring performance, and ensuring site readiness and a seamless visitor experience throughout the event.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and providers of technical and logistical services, ensuring compliance with contracts and approved standards while achieving maximum efficiency in execution.
  • Oversee field control systems during events to monitor and improve workflow and make immediate decisions that ensure a safe and exceptional visitor experience.
  • Review comprehensive post-event evaluation reports that include performance indicators, cultural and tourism impact, improvement feedback, and future development opportunities.
  • Manage the visitor experience by developing interactive activities and modern technologies within events that enhance engagement and immersion in local heritage in an appealing contemporary manner.
  • Manage initiatives and projects related to the department and monitor their performance and workflow.
  • Prepare periodic reports for the General Supervisor on performance and achievements compared to the operational plan and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or any related field.
  • Total experience of at least 8 years, including a minimum of two years in a managerial position.
  • Extensive experience in a similar scope of work, its tasks, and the sector it falls within.
