Job description
Event Designer

Application Deadline: 31 December 2025

Department: Client Services / Project

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Riyadh

Description

We’re hiring a Mid-Level Event Designer to take concepts from idea to on-site delivery across brand activations, conferences, festivals, and destination programs in the Kingdom.

You’ll translate strategy into zoned floorplans, scenic and stage design, wayfinding systems, guest flows, and production-ready documentation, balancing creativity with technical rigor.

You’ll own defined workstreams, collaborate tightly with Production/Technical, and protect design quality through tender, fabrication, install, and showtime.

Key Responsibilities

Concept & Experience Layout

  • Develop concepts, zoning, adjacencies, and end-to-end guest journeys (arrivals, VIP, BOH, egress).
  • Create stage/scenic concepts, brand touchpoints, hospitality areas, registration, and interactive zones with clear sightlines and capacities.

Design Development & Documentation

  • Produce GA plans, elevations, seating plans, wayfinding/signage schedules, and set/prop call-outs.
  • Coordinate with TDs/Engineers on rigging points, loads, power, AV/lighting, cable paths, and H&S clearances.
  • Prepare tender packs: drawings, specs, finishes, BOQs, and vendor briefing documents.

Visualisation & Presentation

  • Communicate intent via sketches, moodboards, 3D massing/clay, and selected hero frames.
  • Build clear client decks that explain narrative, flow, and operational logic; iterate fast for pitches and approvals.

Vendor & Production Interface

  • Liaise with scenic, staging, truss/rigging, LED, lighting, audio, SFX, and print vendors; review shop drawings and samples.
  • Support value engineering without compromising safety or brand experience.

On-Site & Handover

  • Attend site surveys; issue redlines/RFIs; oversee mock-ups and installation QA; track snags to completion.
  • Support rehearsals, and final handover.

Research & Standards

  • Track regional/global event trends and KSA guidelines; maintain templates, detail libraries, and checklists that speed delivery.

Core Competencies

  • Spatial planning & crowd flow
  • Scenic/set design fundamentals
  • Production-ready documentation & detail orientation
  • Cross-disciplinary collaboration and clear communication
  • Problem-solving under time pressure; ownership of workstreams.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Experience: 3–6+ years in event/exhibition/experiential design (agency/studio or production house).
  • Tools: AutoCAD or Vectorworks (must), 3DS Max (must), Adobe CC (InDesign/Illustrator/Photoshop) Google Slides for decks. Unreal a plus.
  • Technical Literacy: Rigging basics, AV/lighting fundamentals, materials & scenic fabrication, accessibility, H&S clearances.
  • AI Literacy: Practical use of Visual AI for mooding, comping, and document acceleration, without replacing craft.
  • Language: Strong professional English; Arabic proficiency highly preferred.
  • Portfolio: Built or tendered projects showing concept → DD → documentation and on-site outcomes.
Benefits
  • Comprehensive paid time off benefits.
  • Hybrid work model, where our team comes into the office a minimum of 3 days per week.
  • Comprehensive health and life insurance.
  • Monthly breakfasts and monthly social sessions.
  • Select educational support for growth and upskilling.
  • You will have the opportunity to work on multi-million dollar giga-projects that are literally shaping the future of global tourism and culture.
  • We offer a collaborative, international environment where your ideas will be heard and your growth prioritized.
