Eram Talent is searching for an Environment and Sustainability Specialist to join their team in Saudi Arabia. The Environment and Sustainability Specialist will work collaboratively with a range of technical specialists on a broad range of projects and will coordinate impact assessments, review and evaluate impacts, develop mitigation measures, and support the development of Environmental and Social Management Plans on behalf of a government client. The role will be a combination of fieldwork and report writing and will be based in client offices in Riyadh, KSA.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and implementing sustainability policies and procedures across various departments.
- Conduct environmental assessments and sustainability audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with local regulations.
- Coordination and delivery of environmental audits and environmental and social impact assessments.
- Good understanding and practical experience with international lender standards e.g., Equator Principles and IFC Performance Standards.
- Understanding of the approach and process steps of environmental impact assessment, and knowledge of regional environmental regulations and their application.
- Professional membership or certification with recognised organisations (e.g., IEMA, CIEEM, CIWEM, IES, PMP Certificate) would be advantageous.
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate sustainability considerations into project planning and execution.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on environmental performance metrics.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on sustainability practices and environmental regulations.
- Stay informed about emerging sustainability trends and best practices, and recommend innovative solutions.
- Engage with stakeholders to promote sustainability initiatives and community outreach efforts.
- Specification, preparation and coordination of fee proposals for environmental work.
- Experience conducting environmental assessments and audits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental management, sustainability, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability frameworks.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and sustainability reporting tools.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.
