Job summary

A leading construction company in Riyadh is seeking a Quality Control professional responsible for ensuring construction projects meet quality standards. The role includes regular inspections, preparation of detailed reports, and collaboration with project teams. Candidates must hold an ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor certification, with additional ISO and NEBOSH certifications preferred.

Qualifications

  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor certification is mandatory.
  • Experience with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certifications is preferred.
  • NEBOSH/IOSH certification is also preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect ongoing construction work for compliance with project plans.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain QA records.
  • Coordinate with engineers and subcontractors to discuss quality issues.

Skills

Reading and interpreting technical drawings

alfanar Construction is classified as a Grade I contractor by the Contractors Classification Committee of the Government of Saudi Arabia.

alfanar Building Systems manufactures and markets a variety of building construction products and systems. .

The core manufacturing activities of the industries operating under alfanar Building Systems are:

  • Precast concrete products and architectural elements

Ensure that construction projects meet quality standards and specifications by monitoring activities, inspecting work, and coordinating with project teams. Responsible for identifying issues, preventing defects, and supporting continuous improvement in construction quality.

Key Accountability Areas

Quality Control & Inspection

  • Regularly inspect ongoing construction work to make sure it meets project plans, safety codes, and industry standards.
  • Keep an eye on the quality of materials, workmanship, and equipment being used on site, ensuring everything is up to standard.
  • Spot any issues with quality, document non-compliance, and quickly inform the site team to address them.
  • Follow up to ensure any corrective actions are properly carried out and documented.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare detailed inspection reports and keep all QA records organized and up to date.
  • Review and revise quality-related documents like method statements and inspection checklists to ensure they reflect current project requirements.
  • Help gather and organize documents for project handovers, making sure all quality information is included.

Coordination & Communication

  • Work closely with project engineers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure everyone is on the same page regarding quality standards.
  • Attend site meetings to raise and discuss any quality issues or concerns with the team.
  • Stay in touch with suppliers and testing labs to ensure all materials meet required quality standards.

Process Improvement

  • Suggest improvements to construction processes based on observations and experience to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Make sure any lessons learned from previous projects are shared with the team to prevent recurring issues.
Role Accountability

Essential Certifications

  • ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems – Lead Auditor is mandatory.
  • ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health Safety Management Systems – Lead Auditor is preferred.
  • ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems – Lead Auditor is preferred.
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) – ASQ is preferred.
  • NEBOSH/IOSH certification is preferred
  • Project Management Certifications is preferred

Key Technical Skills

  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and project specifications.
  • Familiarity with international standards (ASTM, ACI, BS, ISO).
  • Inspection and Testing Plans (ITPs) and Method Statements preparation.
  • Understanding of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Action Processes.
