Summary of the role:

The Electrical Site Engineer is responsible for supervising, executing, and monitoring all electrical works at the project site. This role ensures that all activities comply with project specifications, safety rules, quality standards, and relevant electrical codes. The engineer coordinates with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.

Key responsibilities:
  • Oversee and supervise installation of electrical systems (LV/MV/HV as applicable).
  • Ensure work is carried out according to drawings, specifications, and standards.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify progress and compliance.
  • Manage subcontractors and resolve technical issues on-site.
  • Review electrical drawings, schematics, and shop drawings.
  • Perform load calculations, cable sizing, and equipment selection (as required).
  • Prepare material requisitions and verify materials delivered to site.
  • Assist in testing & commissioning of electrical systems.
  • Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and other engineering teams to avoid clashes.
  • Attend site meetings and provide progress updates.
  • Liaise with consultants, clients, and suppliers on technical matters.
  • Enforce site safety rules and electrical safety standards.
  • Ensure compliance with local electrical codes and company QHSE policies.
  • Conduct inspections and prepare QA/QC documentation (ITPs, checklists, reports).
  • Prepare daily/weekly progress reports.
  • Maintain documentation related to site activities, tests, and inspections.
  • Prepare as-built drawings in coordination with drafting teams.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience as Site or Project Electrical Engineer within engineering, consultancy, or construction firms.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of electrical installation, testing, and commissioning.
  • Proficiency in softwares such as AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, and MS Office.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant international codes (IEC, NEC, BS, local regulations) and standards.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and technical excellence.
  • Strong understanding of project workflows, timelines, and coordination across all project phases.
  • Excellent in speaking English languages.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
