Job summary

A leading industrial equipment supplier in Saudi Arabia is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Prepare conceptual designs and finalize them with the Lead Electrical Design Engineer.
  • Prepare electrical design drawings using CAD and perform necessary calculations.
  • Coordinate with mechanical design engineers and procurement to achieve project tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safety strategies.

Skills

Good communication skills in English/Arabic

Knowledge of international standards (NFPA IEC, NEC)

Job description

We are inviting applications from candidates who have experience working as Electrical Design Engineer in heavy engineering industries for the genset manufacturing division.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Prepare conceptual design and finalize it with the Lead Electrical Design Engineer / Engineering Manager.
  • Establish list of drawings/documents in accordance with SOS/PDS and project requirements.
  • Prepare electrical design drawings with CAD within the allowed time frame and complete all the necessary calculations to ensure safe and correct design.
  • Follow the agreed standard style of drawings as designs.
  • Review design drawings and make necessary corrections/changes.
  • Review supplier/customer drawings and determine the interface requirements.
  • Approving the supplier drawings.
  • Create electrical item’s part numbers and BOMs and purchasing specs.
  • Coordinate with mechanical design engineers to accomplish the tasks.
  • Coordinate with major equipment controllers to get the necessary information.
  • Coordinate with procurement and production to accomplish the project tasks.
  • Do site visits to complete the design
  • Work on different projects at the same time.
  • Attend Kick Off meetings (KOM) and customer interface meetings.
  • Support other departments during assembly or troubleshooting.
  • Ensure that the engineering documents are filled correctly.
  • Do design calculations as necessary.
  • Do cost estimates and preliminary designs when requested.
  • To understand and comply with the procedures associated with ISO 9001
  • Continually participate in developing and improving the designs to cut material costs and manhours.
HSE Responsibilities
  • Adhere to follow all company Quality, Health, Safety, And Environmental (QHSE) policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies, such as designing safety interlocks and specifying appropriate protection devices.
  • Ensure projects and designs remain compliant with all workplace health and safety laws, codes, and standards.
  • Promptly identify and report unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses to the appropriate supervisor or QHSE team.
  • Integrate energy efficiency and resource conservation practices into all stages of the electrical design.
    Foster "safety and environment" awareness and compliance among all project stakeholders.
  • Properly use, maintain, and store personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety tools as required by the job.
  • Attend and actively participate in mandatory Safety inductions, HSE trainings, safety meetings, emergency drills and root cause investigations.
  • Follow established emergency response procedures, including evacuation plans, fire response, and first aid if trained.
  • Provide suggestions to enhance Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and take responsibility and initiatives for continual improvement.
Qualification/Training Courses

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering

Knowledge/Skills/Experience
  • Good communication skills in English/Arabic.
  • Working knowledge of quality systems and standards
  • Minimum 7 years of experience as Electrical Engineer out of which 5 years of experience in designing & development solutions for the power generations industry.
