We are seeking a Junior Project Manager with experience in the construction industry to support multiple data center projects for a top technology client. This client-facing role requires strong interpersonal, communication, organizational skills, self-direction, client representation, and fundamental project management abilities. Experience in data center development, design, engineering, controls, and operational requirements is highly desirable.

You will play a key role in mentoring staff, building long-term client relationships, and pursuing new business opportunities, including strategy development, proposal, and contract negotiation.

Responsibilities

  1. Apply modern project management techniques within complex organizations; understand engineering, design, procurement, safety, construction, and commissioning processes.
  2. Build strong client relationships and communicate effectively with technical and management personnel.
  3. Manage assigned projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely and effective delivery.
  4. Prepare and present progress reports, findings, and recommendations using PowerPoint.
  5. Review project plans, requirements, and specifications.
  6. Assist in preparing RFPs and support contractor selection and contract awards.
  7. Collaborate with contractors to establish CPM baseline schedules.
  8. Perform resource analyses to identify bottlenecks and resource strains.
  9. Identify project risks, gaps, and opportunities; recommend mitigation strategies.
  10. Lead and document project meetings, including OAC meetings.
  11. Review project progress, contractor payments, and invoices.
  12. Conduct technical and financial assessments, feasibility studies, and site surveys.
  13. Contribute to business development through strategy, proposals, and contract negotiations.
  14. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Experience in construction project management.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction, mechanical or electrical engineering, project management, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of construction, mechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of pre-design, pre-construction, contract management, project delivery, and building systems.
  • Experience in report development for diverse audiences.
  • Client-facing experience.
  • Ability to comprehend complex construction programs and communicate progress effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Preferred:

  • Master's in construction management or related field.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management.
  • Membership in PMI, CCMA, or similar organizations.
  • PMP certification.
  • Background in data center development and construction.
