A leader in oil and gas services is seeking a Drill Bit Repair Technician in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. Job Summary:

A Bit Repair Operator within our Reed Hycalog division, Dammam, you will be actioned with a variety of manual/machine grinding, blast cleaning and thermal related tasks such as brazing and hardfacing that focus on the repair and assemble of drill bits to a high standard.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities
  • Assembling components to engineering drawings and set procedures.
  • Good knowledge and practical skills in various metal welding process.
  • Adverse in the use oxy/acetylene equipment and processes.
  • Use of handheld grinding tools.
  • Inspect parts according to frequency specified and report any non-conformances and be knowledgeable in using standard measuring instruments and inspection techniques.
  • Be fully aware of personal workload, prioritise and organise to ensure deadlines are achieved.
  • Ensure a high standard of professionalism is maintained and that customer care is foremost.
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the work area and department.
  • Ensure personal compliance with all HSE legislation and HSE Company policy.
  • Contribute to the development of systems and improvement in working practices and processes.
  • Be fully familiar and conversant with department and company policies, procedures, and processes, ensuring all work and actions undertaken are always in full compliance.
  • Support other departments and carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by line manager.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Technical diploma Certificate in metal fabrication or welding processes is desirable.
  • Previous welding experience in a light/heavy fabrication environment would be advantageous.
  • You should be able to demonstrate your ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings and schematics as well as production shop practices and procedures.
  • You should also be a good team player with the ability to work under your own initiative.
Experience
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Skills & Competencies
  • Experience of Oxy fuel hardfacing and brazing processes.
  • Understanding of Fanuc CNC controls is advantageous.
  • Working knowledge within an engineering environment.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical assembly.
