Job description

The role of Director - Power Phase 2 at Qiddiya Investment Company is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the development, execution, and management of the power infrastructure critical to supporting the Qiddiya project. This position requires expertise in power generation, distribution, and regulatory compliance, ensuring that the energy needs of the complex are met while adhering to sustainability principles.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Project Development & Management: Lead the planning, design, and implementation of power systems for Phase 2 of Qiddiya, ensuring alignment with project timelines and budget constraints. Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, and stakeholders to facilitate the efficient execution of power projects, ensuring deliverables meet national and international safety and quality standards.
  2. Regulatory Compliance & Sustainability: Ensure compliance with all relevant local regulations, standards, and policies related to power projects. Develop strategies to incorporate renewable energy and sustainable practices into power systems to minimize environmental impact.
  3. Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with governmental and regulatory bodies to secure necessary permits and approvals for power projects. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to facilitate integration with other infrastructures in Qiddiya.
  4. Financial Oversight: Prepare and manage budgets for Phase 2 power projects, ensuring effective allocation of resources. Develop financial models and investment proposals for future power generation projects, including cost-benefit analyses.
  5. Team Leadership: Build and lead a project team, fostering collaboration, innovation, and accountability. Mentor and develop team members, ensuring they have necessary skills to succeed.
  6. Operational Excellence: Define operational metrics and key performance indicators for power systems, ensuring efficient and reliable energy supply. Establish robust maintenance and operational protocols to optimize system performance and reliability.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; Master’s degree or Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in power generation and distribution, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing large-scale projects.
  • Proven track record of successful project management within the energy sector, particularly in renewable energy initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance standards related to power systems in Saudi Arabia or the GCC region.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
