JOB PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE
The Design Engineer II supports the development of production designs for mechanical parts to meet specified requirements and quality standards. This includes preparing part drawings, assisting in engine troubleshooting during production, and providing support during acceptance testing and post-commissioning phases. The engineer also contributes to resolving engine-related issues during production and testing under the guidance of senior team members.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Assist in developing 2D/3D CAD-based design systems compatible with the Licensor’s standards and support in establishing drawing and technology documentation practices.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to maintain communication channels with the Licensor and technical partners, helping in gathering insights on technical trends and engineering issues.
- Contribute to the design of structural engine parts such as bedplates, frame boxes, cylinder frames, and platforms, as well as moving components, under supervision.
- Use CAD tools to develop accurate 2D/3D models of engine components and assemblies, ensuring compliance with Licensor specifications and internal standards.
- Prepare parts lists and issue Purchase Order Requests (PORs) with accuracy and completeness, supporting procurement of components as per quality and quantity requirements.
- Provide design inputs in coordination with other departments and assist in preparing technical documentation such as Extent of Delivery (EOD) based on Purchase Order Specifications (POS).
- Assist in investigating engine issues such as vibration, noise, or misalignment during production and work with senior engineers and the Operations team for resolution.
- Support in managing Non-Conformity Reports (NCRs) and the List of Differences (LOD), and coordinate with the Licensor for issue clarification and resolution.
- Participate in efforts to improve design efficiency and reduce material waste through cost-conscious engineering approaches.
