Demi Chef de Parti – Pastry

As a Demi Chef de Partie, you will support the pastry team in delivering refined, creative, and consistently high-quality desserts and baked goods. This role is ideal for a passionate and ambitious pastry professional seeking to hone their craft. You will be responsible for your assigned area in the pastry kitchen, ensuring preparation and presentation meet the highest standards.

Key Requirements
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of all pastry items, including desserts, tarts, cakes, mousses, chocolates, baked goods, breads, ice creams, and viennoiseries.
  • Execute recipes to precise specifications, maintaining consistency in taste, texture, and presentation.
  • Take ownership of a specific section within the pastry kitchen, such as chocolate, bread, plated desserts, or afternoon tea.
  • Ensure mise en place is complete ahead of each service and restock as needed throughout the day.
  • Work closely with the Chef de Partie, Head Baker or Sous Chef to help develop new menu ideas and seasonal offerings.
  • Adhere to the highest food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP), ensuring a clean and organized workstation at all times.
  • Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the Chef de Partie to support efficient kitchen operations.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior team members, including Commis Chefs and trainees.
  • Participate in special functions and VIP events, delivering exceptional service and artistry.
Additional Qualifications
  • Certificate, diploma, or degree in Pastry Arts, Baking, or Culinary Arts.
  • 1–2 years of experience minimum in a luxury hotel, fine-dining restaurant, or professional pastry kitchen.
  • Passion for pastry with a strong foundation in baking techniques, dessert plating, and pastry skills.
  • Artistic eye for presentation and detail-oriented approach to recipe execution.
  • Willingness to learn, take direction, and grow within a high-performance team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage time efficiently during busy service periods.
  • Intermediate level of English required; other languages are considered an asset.
