About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server technologies.
The DBA will manage, maintain, and optimize mission‑critical database environments, ensuring performance, availability, security, and compliance. The role includes day‑to‑day operations and strategic initiatives such as migrations, upgrades, and high availability/disaster recovery planning.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Oracle (RAC, ASM, Data Guard) and MS SQL Server environments.
- Perform regular health checks, patching, upgrades, and backup/restore operations.
- Ensure database environments are stable, secure, and performing optimally.
- Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and recommend optimizations.
- Configure indexing, partitioning, and SQL query optimization best practices.
- Implement user access controls, encryption, and auditing in line with compliance requirements.
- Configure and maintain Oracle Data Guard, MS SQL AlwaysOn, clustering, and replication.
- Develop and test disaster recovery strategies for both Oracle and SQL Server.
- Track and analyze database growth trends to anticipate capacity requirements.
- Use monitoring tools to proactively manage database health and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database‑related incidents; conduct root‑cause analysis.
- Maintain runbooks, architecture diagrams, and change records; provide training and knowledge transfer to internal teams.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience as a Database Administrator with expertise in both Oracle and MS SQL Server.
- Strong hands‑on experience with Oracle (RAC, ASM, RMAN, Data Guard, OEM, WebLogic Server).
- Strong hands‑on experience with MS SQL Server (clustering, replication, AlwaysOn, SSIS/SSRS).
- Proven track record in backup/recovery, disaster recovery, and high availability design.
- Solid understanding of database security and user access control.
- Expertise in performance tuning and SQL query optimization.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross‑functional teams.
- Fluent in English; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
Preferred Certifications
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or equivalent advanced database certifications.
- Microsoft SQL Server certifications are a plus.
