Woodston Personnel are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant Anesthesiologist to join our client’s hospital in Saudi Arabia.
The Consultant Anesthesiologist will provide expert anesthesia and perioperative care for patients undergoing surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures. The role involves preoperative evaluation, intraoperative management, and postoperative care, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes. The successful candidate will demonstrate clinical excellence, leadership, and a commitment to teaching, research, and continuous quality improvement within the department.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct preoperative assessment and optimization of patients scheduled for surgery or procedures requiring anesthesia.
- Administer all types of anesthesia—general, regional, local, and sedation—based on patient needs and surgical requirements.
- Manage patients during surgery, maintaining hemodynamic stability, airway control, and pain management.
- Provide post-anesthesia care, including monitoring and managing patients in the recovery area and addressing complications.
- Deliver anesthesia and analgesia for emergency surgeries, obstetric cases, and intensive care procedures.
- Participate in pain management services, including acute and chronic pain assessment and treatment.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
- Participate in on-call duties according to departmental schedules.
- Supervise, teach, and mentor junior doctors, residents, nurses, and anesthesia technicians.
- Contribute to continuing medical education (CME), simulation training, and clinical workshops.
- Participate in research projects, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Promote the implementation of evidence-based anesthesia practices and protocols.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental policies, protocols, and safety standards.
- Attend departmental and multidisciplinary meetings, morbidity and mortality reviews, and case discussions.
- Assist in resource planning, including anesthesia equipment and medication management.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive patient documentation and records.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control measures, and patient safety standards.

- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
- US Board/ FRCS - Irish, UK, Canadian, New Zealand or Australian/ Diploma d'Etudes Specialises (DES)/ CIS French Board/ Fachart & Sub- Board/ Fellowship / Board / Fellowship / Sweden / Belgium / Finland / Spain
- Must have at least 3-5years of post-consultant or senior specialist experience
- Eligible for consultant licensure with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS)
