Job Purpose

Lincoln College International (LCI) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer / Technician specializing in Composites Manufacturing and Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) to join our training team in Riyadh. This role is instrumental in delivering hands‑on training across aviation, land, and naval sectors, ensuring trainees develop industry‑relevant skills in composites fabrication, repair, and MRO processes. The successful candidate will prepare, deliver, and assess training supporting the progression of trainees into specialist roles within the industry. Due to the sensitive nature of this role, candidates will be required to undergo enhanced background security checks as part of the recruitment process. Good competency in English is mandatory. Non‑native candidates must provide proof of English competency through IELTS, TOEFL, STEP, or a similar language exam. An offer of employment will be made subject to final approval from the client.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Training & Course Delivery
  • Deliver high-quality theoretical and practical training in a range of modules, including composites manufacturing, repair techniques, and MRO procedures across aerospace, land, and naval systems.
  • Design and implement engaging, hands‑on lessons, workshops, and assessments that align with industry standards and best practices.
  • Ensure training is industry-focused, with a strong emphasis on real‑world applications and technical competencies.
  • Assess trainees’ practical and theoretical understanding, providing structured feedback to support learning and skill development.
  • Maintain high teaching and learning quality standards through peer reviews and lesson observations.
  • Actively engage and motivate trainees, fostering technical excellence and professional behaviour.
Course & Program Development
  • Manage course content and success rates, ensuring effective learning outcomes.
  • Develop and refine training materials to align with industry advancements and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to developing and enhancing LCI’s training programs, ensuring they remain at the cutting edge of technology and best practices.
Quality Assurance & Assessment
  • Conduct assessments and internal verification and maintain documentation in compliance with LCI policies.
  • Ensure the safety, functionality, and upkeep of training equipment, tools, and lab facilities.
Trainee Engagement & Support
  • Organise enrichment activities, including industry visits, guest lectures, and hands‑on projects.
  • Support the selection, recruitment, and enrollment of trainees into LCI programmes.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and career support to trainees, ensuring their success in the programme and progression into employment.
  • Promote equal opportunities, safeguarding, and welfare within the training environment.
Collaboration & Professional Development
  • Work as part of a flexible training team, collaborating with colleagues to enhance the learning experience.
  • Stay updated with industry and pedagogical advancements through continuous professional development and training.

Undertake such other duties commensurate with the level of the post as may be required from time to time.

Person Specifications
Essential Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of industry experience in composite materials, fabrication, repair methodologies, MRO processes, inspection techniques or regulatory compliance, ideally within a manufacturing, aviation, land, or naval setting.
  • Minimum of Diploma (or equivalent) in Mechanical Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Production Technology or a related field. Or a recognised professional certification in a related field, for example:
    • Certified Composites Technician (CCT) – American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA).
    • PCN Level II, or III (BINDT) / ASNT Level II, or III
  • Excellent communication skills and motivation to engage and inspire trainees (A CEFR B1 ability in English is required).
  • Enhanced security clearance will be required.
  • Understanding of health & safety regulations and best practices.
Desirable Requirements
  • Prior teaching or training experience in a technical or vocational setting.
  • Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training, PGCE, or equivalent).
  • Experience with use of Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) technologies.
  • Experience with assessing and internal verification.
  • End-Point Assessment (EPA) experience or an assessor qualification such as CAVA (Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement) or TAQA.
  • Industry-recognised certifications, such as:
    • UK CAA Part 66, EASA Part 66 (B1/B2), FAA A&P License, GACA AMEL or similar.
    • Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher).
    • SAMPE Certification – Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering.
    • IPC Certifications (IPC-A-610, IPC-7711/21, IPC/WHMA-A-620)
    • Project Management certification such as PMP or PRINCE 2 practitioner.
Continuous Professional Development

Candidates without a formal teaching qualification will be expected to complete a Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (supported by LCI) within six months of starting. Additionally, opportunities for further professional development and industry certification will be provided. Those meeting the minimum educational qualifications but lacking work experience may be considered for the Saudi Junior Teacher Development Programme.
