Commercial Director ( for SN only ) Would you like to be part of our team. We currently have a vacancy as Commercial Director Advert closing on 14.08.2023 Location : Riyadh Grade : GG15 ROLE DESCRIPTION : The job holder will be responsible for providing commercial leadership to the business promoting a culture of informed decision making and supporting the negotiation of the delivery of contracts which support the Integrated Business Plan (IBP) in an environment underpinned by effective financial control and operating within the requirements of Life Cycle Management and the Operational Framework. In support of Saudi Arabia Vision 2030, the job holder is also responsible for optimising career opportunities for Saudi nationals, transferring key commercial expertise and ensuring that BAES SDT develops and delivers significant indigenous capability and value to Saudi Arabia.

Qualifications, Experience and Business Expertise

Relevant Degree or equivalent and c. 15+ years commercial / procurement experience Experience of working effectively with BAE Systems Group / Business Units and senior stakeholders in the Customer and partner company communities. Strong relationship developer and influencing skills. In depth knowledge of the market competitors, supply base, products / services and in developing key relationships and strategies to meet the needs of the business and BAE Systems strategy. Extensive knowledge of business unit financial / commercial / procurement policies and business unit approach to Life Cycle Management Proven experience in developing, negotiating, agreeing and managing contracts of high value and complexity. Member or Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply or accredited by the International Association for Contracts and Commercial Management (IACCM) or equivalent.

OBJECTIVES & OUTLINE ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Develop and deploy appropriate governance, policies and processes to underpin commercial and procurement capability.
  • Ensure the activities and objectives of the team are fully integrated throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support business winning, managing cash and improving sustainable profitability.
  • Lead contract negotiations to ensure the successful conclusion.
  • Determine pricing, payment strategies and policies in assigned areas.
  • Develop, co‑ordinate and implement overall financial targets and budgetary management strategies in assigned areas.
  • Manage potential areas of risk and carry out risk analyses and assessments to support the minimisation of risk.
  • Build, manage and maintain relationships with existing and potential customers to ensure the effective management of business agreements.
  • Lead on the resolution of commercial issues to facilitate effective business decision‑making.
  • Lead regular reviews with Customer, partner to review relationship, current / future bids / opportunities and ensure that contracted obligations and agreed targets are achieved.
  • Inspire and develop the team to ensure they are aware of and capable of delivering their responsibilities.
  • Lead the development of the Functional Governance Plan and communicate / implement in assigned area to deliver strong governance and business effectiveness.
  • Lead interfaces with Finance, Legal, HR and Group Tax to establish effective contracting and pricing models.
  • Lead RBA activities.
  • Chair / Lead Tender activities.
  • Assess Commercial / Procurement plans in support of LCM.
